2020-2021 Cavs Season General Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Is Garland and Sexton playing tonight or what?

So far only Sexton it looks like. Garland still questionable.
Had contact practice and still might be held out. Pathetic. What the fuck is going on with holding players out that can play? Especially the young guys. If Windler can play... why isn’t he playing?

Annoying as fuck. I’m getting tired of the Cavaliers. I watch the games to see the young guys and if they’re holding them out for no reason..... the fuck is the point?

I found this ESPN article re: first round picks, interesting. Here are the details in brief.

Half the league is frozen out of trading first-rounders

With 2028 draft picks unable to be included in trades until the start of next season, here is a look at the teams with little or no flexibility when it comes to dealing first-round picks.

TEAMNOTE
BKNCan't trade any
DALCan't trade own until 2027
DENCan trade only own in 2021 or 2027
DETCan't trade any
GSCan't trade own until 2026
LACCan't trade any
LALCan't trade any
MIACan't trade any
MILCan't trade any
MINCan't trade own until 2024
PHICan't trade own from 2025-27
PHXCan't trade own until 2027
PORCan't trade any
UTAHCan't trade own until 2026
WASCan trade only own in 2021

Some of the info/inferences in here are technically accurate but not telling the whole story.

Portland for example has only one 1st round pick owed to a team, their 2021 pick that has various protections that extend beyond 2027.

But if they want to deal any pick from 2023 or beyond, they can simply loosen the restriction on the 2021 or 2022 pick and be able to deal a future first. And there are other teams on this list with similar scenarios.

That said, teams like LAL, LAC, MIL and a few others truly are locked out of having picks to move for a long, long time.

Is Garland and Sexton playing tonight or what?

Also, other reports indicate Windler did not have a set back, will play Friday, and only isn’t playing today because of a roster/clerical issue related to the signing release of Yogi

In other words, everyone take a deep breath and relax

COLLIN SEXTONPG, CLEVELAND CAVALIERS

Collin Sexton (left ankle sprain) and Darius Garland (shoulder) are game-time calls for Wednesday vs. Brooklyn.

Sexton's fantasy managers have every reason to be anxious, as he was named a starter on two separate occasions only to be pulled at the last possible second. Hopefully this is the night the exciting young backcourt is finally cleared to return.

Do you guys realized what just happened?!?

Sexton went the fuck off.
allen AND prince looked great.
Drummond shot no 3s.

and we showed some real fucking GRIT in this win.
WOW.

The main piece of the Kyrie trade outplayed Kyrie down the stretch of a double OT win, spoiling Kyrie's return and their superteam's debut. That's what happened!

Never underestimate what a win like this does for a young team with an already-strong culture. Sexton re-established that this is his team, and Bickerstaff's commitment to hustle and defense was again validated against the most talented team in the East. The new guys contributed and bought in, making that transition as smooth as possible.

Reallly hope Darius can pick up where he left off. Sexland coming back with this loaded frontcourt makes this team a legitimate playoff team in my opinion.

And important to note that Darius was stoked during the OT's unlike some others on the bench.
