2020-2021 Cavs Season General Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Sinclair's direct to consumer idea is dead in the water before it ever happens. Betting the price will be at minimum $30 a month for access to 1 fucking channel (2 if you're in Ohio). Bank on them overpricing it and it dying within a year. I may or may not have been privy to what they were asking for when all the streamers dropped them. If they think they're gonna get that value on direct to consumer, it's going to be outlandish priced.

I agree that if it's $30 then they are dead in the water. I have to think it will lineup with what league pass charges for one team at $17.99 a month. I actually think it makes more sense to just incorporate it into league pass but apparently the Bally's deal is to incorporate sports betting into the app. My guess that is how they have figured out how to regain some of the lost revenue to make it affordable to consumers.

I don't think RNS's will be a viable part of sports leagues models going forward. They just have to ride out these current contracts and rework their model. I think we will see sports on a wider variety of networks and at more times. My guess is they will try to make league pass the option of choice for the people that are a level above a casual fan.

I just found out you CAN subscribe to one team for $119.99 per year. That comes out to $1.67 per game for a 72-game season. I don't know about you, but I think that is an amazing value. Since I have DirecTV I can DVR the games and watch them on a one-hour delay and fast forward through the breaks.
Wait! I have Direct TV and they told me they don’t have that capability and that you can only get NBALP single team seasons through NBA.Com. Has that changed?

I give it one more year before LNJ is forced to "come home."

I just got through watching Bickerstaff, Okoro and Cedi's interview from yesterday.

Bickerstaff mentioned every position is open for competion.

Bickerstaff mentioned that he will have different lineups thoughout preseason.

He also said that it will be the third or fourth preseason that he will make his decision, who the starters will be.

Wants Sexton to continue where he left off.

And,he's going to use a ten man rotation, maybe eleven in certain situations.

As,for Okoro he was shocked by the amount of snow the other day. He's going to get a rude awakening on how cold it gets here in December and January.....lol

Cedi, mostly worked on his ball handling and three-point range. He worked by himself due to the pandemic.

I just saw on their website that they were offering a single team package for $119. I didn't call them to see if there is any fine print. You're probably right. It would fall into the too good to be true category. Still, $190 for 72 games for the whole league comes out to $2.64 per game if you only watch the Cavs, still a great deal.

Which means Cedi's defense probably hasn't improved. That's going to be one heck of a three-way battle for those 48 minutes at small forward.

A couple players mentioned how strong Okoro is and how he's bigger in person than he looked on film. He's only 19. With his body and that work ethic there's a lot of upside there.

I would rather have Dotson in the rotation than Cedi, I think Cedi really needs some tough love after being the only SF on the roster the past 2 years. He doesn't defend or box out + is careless with the ball

I have never seen this during any game I have attended.. I have seen an unselfish player who helps on defense, shares the rock, and is willing to play any role. He is an average skill NBA player, past his physical peak.. I see him on the extra minutes squad as soon as they trust Okoro on defense..

Cedi is 24 years old so I wouldn't say he is past his physical peak. He is unselfish and will do anything to help the team. He understands he's a complementary player who is not going to be a high usage guy.

He needs to improve his defense dramatically and also his three-point shot if he wants to be part of the rotation. He's not a bad 3-point shooter, but he's limited in other areas so he has to be very good at something to compensate.

He's not a strong one-on-one defender or a strong rebounder and he can't beat his man off the dribble. He has a nice spin move in the paint going to his left hand and he's good finishing fast breaks. He's a liability in the half-court game.

I think it's just a matter of time before he's behind both Okoro and Windler at SF, not to mention the possibility of Love at PF and Nance at SF which looked very good in a small sample last year.

Whatever his calendar age, he has certainly dropped a bit.. I think he is a good defender, but a bit like Thompson, he had a lot of warts to cover. Our backcourt was dismal defenders, and Cedi had to rotate each time a guard did the matador.. On a team with competent defenders, Cedi is much more effective..

Osman is 25 he's a little over a year older than Windler (who we've never seen play in an nba game).
Cedi is going to be an excellent guy to bring off the bench when the team gets really good but for right now
if all things are equal in training camp and the exhibition games I'd rather start Cedi and let the young guys earn
their minutes. Okoro is only 19. I don't want to hand him a job right out of camp. Now if its obvious after
camp that Windler of Okoro deserve to start then go for it. These lineups can be reevaluated every 5-10 games or so.
I just hope Windler is as good as everyone thinks he's going to be.
