2020-2021 Cavs Season General Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I do not think this was true last night.

I thought Osman and Okoro had a ton of clean looks.
over the losing streak it was very true night in and night out. Last night the ball still stuck way more than it should, and Okoro started firing up every open look he had (which felt like a response to something, TBH).

I feel like a decision on the sexland backcourt is for the 2023 off-season. By then we should know more. Sexton will have his floor game or not. So we can move on from him if he is more a 'monta scorer on a bad team' player.

I think you need to make it this offseason or by mid-next year. Collin will be expecting something close to a max deal if he is putting up points with strong FG%'s, even if they are hollow or to the detriment of his teammates. Cavs probably won't be as excited to max him out, meaning Sexton "betting on himself" making it pretty hard to deal him on the 1 year qualifying offer.

Zach Harper of The Athletic has a new Power Poll out; the Cavs are bringing up the rear.

No true All-Star hopes for the Cleveland Cavaliers, even with as well as Collin Sexton has played this season. He’s tailed off just enough as the Cavs have spiraled into losing 10 in a row. So instead, I guess we’re back to wondering if they can move off that Andre Drummond contract at all. A potential deal with Toronto looked likely this past week, but talks have appeared to cooled off. Considering the Cavs acquired him for Brandon Knight, John Henson and a future second-round pick, the return for Drummond a year later isn’t likely to clear that. And moving a big contract, even though it’s expiring, doesn’t prove to be that easy. Looking around the league, plenty of executives still believe Drummond is more likely to be a buyout candidate than a deadline acquisition.
Why are they ranked here? Lost 10 straight, including every game this week. It’s the worst team in basketball.

Depressing, they should just buy out Drummond now and be done with it,,, I see no reason to drag it out anymore.
As according to Harper here they wont even clear what they traded him for,,,LOL.

No reason to do it now. Someone could get desperate. Buying him out now does zero for us.

The Cav's have a 1 game winning streak, and the radio announcer said we can't take the Rockets lightly. Man have i missed something about this team greatness?

The second half has 21 of 36 games against teams with losing records. 22 against the East, 14 against the West. The Cavs have had the 5th toughest schedule so far.

They get eight days off from March 3-12 for the All-Star break. With no Cavs participating they should be able to get in some good practices.

Nance is out until at least March 22 according to cbssports which means he would miss the first 10 games if he gets back on March 24. So he would be there for the last 26 games.

I'm looking forward to seeing the team we have now with the additions of Nance and Love, plus with the break to make some tweaks and after another 13 games of experience for the rookies.

Either Nance or Love would fit nicely with Allen IMO. Love gives him a big outlet target and should help unclog the lane on offense and Nance can help on defense by covering the backside when Allen gets caught outside on a switch. Both Love and Nance will help with our defensive rebounding woes. Unfortunately, I suspect we won't get to see the full picture until next Fall.
