2020-21 Offseason Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Hey @sportscoach
I think you might be interested in this article..

I wish the person did a little more digging to be honest. 4 names isnt really going to cut it at the end of the day. I would like a short list of lefties and catchers that could be worth picking. (Though i probably use the Rule 5 way too much in the simulator games lol)[/QUOTE]

Tribe FO is hiring!

The Cleveland Indians Baseball Research & Development group is seeking to hire an experienced data scientist to use advanced machine learning techniques to enhance our ability to quantify the game of baseball. In this role, you will work with complex high-dimensional, spatiotemporal data such as video, player tracking, and biomechanics data. You will use these data sources to help the team acquire the best possible players (i.e. trades, free agency, draft) and develop them into members of a championship-caliber team. As a machine-learning expert within the research team, you will be responsible for model conception, design, and implementation. We are open to a remote role for the right candidate, but relocation to Cleveland, OH is preferred.

Clearly going down the probability modeling road.

And it would seem they are going to do something with the library of biomechanical pitcher data they have since installing the Hawk-eye system.

Needs more than jones. Jones, johnson, luplow and mercado aint an outfield.... sure more moves are coming.

Well Jones has very good numbers against RH pitchers, struggles badly against lefties.

I figured we'd keep one of Naquin and Hedges. Not surprised we let Naquin walk, but our current OF is bleak.. Think next year we cycle through some wannabes, surprises and retreads... Maybe even Naquin again.

Could be a rough year. better hope Detroit doesn't get better (they will) and we don't suffer many/any injuries to our pitching staff

Buh bye.Tyler. The four year tenure is finally over. I’ll always fondly remember your inside the park homer on highlight reels.

Have a feeling that they are counting on Bradley or Bauers for keeping Naylor in OF.. agggg...

Until they trade Lindor, it’s impossible to project who plays where other than Jose at 3B since we all expect them to fill at least one or two spots on the diamond with a Lindor deal.
The Atlanta Braves have non-tendered outfielder Adam Duvall, sources tell ESPN. The 29-year-old, who is coming off a 16-homer season in 57 games, is now a free agent.

The #Marlins tender Jesus Aguilar, after all, signing him to a one-year, $4.3 million contract.

Angels have acquired Jose Iglesias from the Orioles, source tells The Athletic.

The #Royals bring back slugger Jorge Soler for $8.05 million with $250,000 in incentives.

Kevin Plawecki, Red Sox settle at $1.6M
