Miller's bat will find a place no doubt. I had posted earlier wondering how Miller will squeeze in with the rest of the OFers. I'm assuming that Naylor is the future LFer once Rosario exits. CF should be betweein Rosario, Mercado, and Johnson. RF could be Johnson or Jones.

Miller's swing is low maintenance so a utility player might be his calling, but he's good enough to be a fulltime 2B IMO. He may ultimately perform better than Freeman, but I think they are very similar players with each having slight advantages in certain areas. I won't be disappointed seeing either at 2B.

Rodriguez and Arias could have the bats to play corner positions. I think Rodriguez has already been moved to 3B and has transitioned quite well. From what I can gather he wasn't nearly as adept at SS as the others you listed.

Bottom line Criz is that there are numerous MIF prospects getting close and they're(Cleveland Brass) going to have to make some difficult decisions.

What this organization is presently missing is an OFer like Clint Frazier. I'm not suggesting that he can be had at all, he's just the first name that popped up and is a good example of what I personally prefer. It's too bad that Franmil can't play better defense in RF. I think that would make things much easier.

I'll take this opportunity to apologize to you. I don't want to come across as all knowing or that my opinions matter more than anyone else's because they don't. I just really don't like when what I say is deliberately misconstrued or exasperated to make a point. I don't want or expect another poster to have ill feelings toward an individual because I'm in disagreement with them either, because I don't do that myself. In my mind, we each develop relationships with others individually. Good day to you.
Thanks CDAV - i know you're passionate and sometimes things grind our gears. I have had my share of moments.

Miller is going to be interesting. If his arm is up for it, 3B seems like a good spot in AAA for him but expect to see him at SS,2B,1B (if not Jones) on Bradley's day(s) off. Could end up in OF/DH the days he isn't in the infield - he appears failry versatile.

After watching Josh Naylor butcher RF.. it might be time to take a real look at what Franmill can do in RF.. RF is the natural position for Franmill, so, it may look like he knows what he's doing out there...

edit: I still maintain, Franmill might be best suited with a shovel.. 6'7", 255 pounds guys with some athleticism at 1B play a LONG time as 1B'ers..
Naylor will have to lose his OF position and I'm actually fine with that. As Indians' fans we should all want him to succeed, I just don't think as highly of him as others. I hope they're right for the record.

I have to say that I don't believe that Josh is as bad defensively as his ST has been. He's in good shape and much more mobile than he was previously and he has a decent arm. I think he'll be fine and that LF is his eventual home.

I have no problem with the Franimal playing some 1B, but moving to a position that a player has little to no experience at typically isn't that easy. They also have Bradley and Jones to consider there.

There are a lot of decisions that will be interesting to see how they come to fruition.

I'm extremely confident that Miller will have a very good major league career. I am not confident that he has the arm to be a regular 3B. His arm is slightly stronger than Freeman's, but Freeman can get rid of the ball about as quick as anyone I recall seeing. I hope that both can find a home positionally for this team, but ultimately I think they're both battling for 2B.

You mentioning Bradley and Jones points to the idea that this organization should target a RHH 1B/corner OF. There isn't a single one worth mentioning in the system that I can think of.

The slugging second-baseman has relatives in the Cleveland system still, I think.
I hope the only two ways Roooooooo-gie gets into Progressive is as a starter for the Yankees (where he'll still suck) or he buys a ticket..

Lindor will regret it if he turns down this offer. It would be almost stunning if he was offered more than this on the open market.

I'm not so sure.

On the open market, I think Lindor may get multiple offers at that amount, leaving him options as to where he spends the rest of his career....including NY.

Lindors goal has always been to test free agency. Signing two days before he reaches his goal, if he is serious about his deadline, seems strange to me.

if that is a real offer and he can't work out some early year opt outs.. He must want to play on a specific/short list of teams or he is kinda nuts. If he goes on to have a career year, which could be pretty awesome... he will get paid handsomely... Could he end up an Angel??? LOL.

Not if he believes he will not receive a better offer. Not even in Frankie’s delusional self-worth can he really believe he will have multiple suitors above $325 million.

I remember Mickey Mantle signing for $100,000 for 1963 season. Francisco Lindor just turned down $200,617.28 per game from Mets. When is enough enough? He was offered 10-year $325M deal. Wants 12-year $385M to age 39 season. Not a good look for Mr. Smile, especially in pandemic.
I hate comparing something to 1963. Inflation and all that jazz. But, yeah...he’s trying for way too much.
