Does anyone here actually know enough about the "Defensive special assistant" of the Eagles to make a judgment? Enough to feel more confident in our own judgment than those in the league?

no but I know he was a terrible DC during his timein miami. Wouldn’t blitz. Used minkah as a 4th string DB. Miami fans called for his head every week. He did nothing well. Not enough to get another DC job.

Same source also saying that people with longer last names have a better percentage to play well in the ethnic neighborhoods

OC has a couple of pathways that seem obvious.

Kubiak’s could potentially be one avenue, and with that would come Rick Dennison to be the OL coach. Not sure how it works, contractually.

May need to be creative with titles.

General question - I think the league changed the rule a few years ago so that all assistants are treated as equal in pecking order for lateral moves. If that's correct, a guy who's defensive line coach for another team would have to get permission to become defensive coordinator for us. Am I wrong?

I was of the impression that Shanahan denied these interviews unless they were interviewing for a playcalling OC position.

I wonder if that's still the case.
