2020 B1G Championship | #4 Ohio State vs. #14 Northwestern | December 19th, 2020 @ 12 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
as someone that live in tulsa for 10 years... GOD DAMN IT TU, you were so close

The case for leaving out ND is a big loss to a playoff team. The case for leaving out A&M is the same...

Send Cincy and nobody gets mad.

How they hit the over when there was standing water on that field... I dont know. But my wallet thanks Tulsa for making that last drive, and my love for my alma matter thanks UC for a game winning drive and splitting the uprights.

While OSU did not look great, they had 22 guys out, 2 coaches out and looked rusty. When you start to compare rosters, OSU had an elite roster, and when they click they have the talent to play with anyone. While they will be underdogs, they have the roster to compete with Clemson and Bama

As far as UC getting in. I’m proud of these guys regardless of what bowl they go to. They played the schedule in front of them, got W’s in all of them.

What should the committee do? I dont know.

I hope they do whatever leads to the most blowback that ends the CFB committee. And leaving UC out may help that cause. And ill fall on that grenade for yall.

I would love to see them put in Cincy, I think it does 2 things, shows you have to win your conference or not get blown out by a top team, and we can end the debate on if non power 5 teams belong in the playoffs.

Someone had a good point in favor of allowing non P5 teams in. Don’t we see playoff blowouts as it is every year even with the P5 blueblood teams in?

The difference between LSU and Oklahoma last year is larger than A&M to Cincinnati this year I bet.

Well that might be true, but that's not the comparison. The difference between Alabama and Cincinnati this year is much greater than between LSU and OU last year. And Cincinnati is probably the best group of 5 team in 10 years when it comes to talent throughout the roster. While 63-28 was bad, Alabama would beat Cincinnati 70-0.

Is there anywhere I can watch the trophy presentation? I missed it last night and somehow it isn't on youtube?

Its that time of the year again where people dust off that same tired ass argument. “Do you really think (Utah, Boise, TCU, UCF, etc.) can compete with these big boys?”

How many times has the answer to that been proven “Yes” in the NY6 bowls? You don’t know the outcome until you play the games.

Realistically G5s are left out because the big conferences are scared to let them in. The second you give G5s a shot it hurts recruiting to P5 schools. Thats why they are left out.

The few times they beat disinterested big boys in meaningless bowl games doesn't prove they could compete with the best of them with a championship on the line.

I mean, I would love to watch an expanded playoff and see teams like Cincinnati get in it. But they would never win it.

So because they won those games against really good teams, that proves they would be unable to beat other really good teams?

Seriously what kind of logic is that.

I didn't claim it proved anything. You're the one that claimed them beating really good teams a few times proved they could compete with great teams. It doesn't.

You don’t know how they’ll do in a playoff until they actually get the chance to compete. Here are some of the blowouts in previous playoffs:

2015 - Oregon over FSU 59-20
2016 - Alabama over MSU 38-0
2017 - Clemson over OSU 31-0
2019 - Clemson over ND 30-3
2020 - LSU over Oklahoma 63-28

2018 was the only season where one of the two semifinal games wasn’t a 25+ point blowout. 5 of the 12 playoff semifinal games have been won by 25+ points, and 4 of the 12 have been won by 30+ points. There have been more 30+ semifinal wins (4) than there have been single digit semifinal wins (3).

“They can’t compete with the playoff teams” isn’t a good argument to keep an undefeated Cincinnati out of the playoff when almost half of the semifinal games have been blowouts anyway.
