2020 B1G Championship | #4 Ohio State vs. #14 Northwestern | December 19th, 2020 @ 12 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The argument would be that they aren't one of the four best teams. I don't care if they get in honestly. I think Notre Dame is better. I think Texas A&M is better. But as long as Ohio State gets in, I don't care what happens with the rest of them. I would root for UC against Alabama, but if I bet the game, I would take Alabama -35 or whatever the spread would be.

I agree that they’re probably not one of the 4 best teams in the country, but what more could they do to get in? They went undefeated and won their conference title game. If that’s the reason for keeping them out then just call it the P5 Playoff and be done with it. Notre Dame is probably going to lose to Alabama by 40+, so what’s it matter?

Well Notre Dame will give Alabama a better game, but otherwise you're right. Picking the 4 best teams is the committee's job. I would enjoy a bigger playoff as much as I enjoy this one. But that's not what we have.

If picking the 4 best teams is their job, then I think they failed that job this year. I don’t think Notre Dame is one of the top 4 teams in the country.

Is there anywhere I can watch the trophy presentation? I missed it last night and somehow it isn't on youtube?
Managed to find this inside of an article in case anyone is interested. It was marked unlisted for whatever reason.

Pretty hilarious hearing the parents boo Kevin Warren :chuckle:

Dabo is such a fucktard. OSU 11th? Really?

Behind 3-loss Florida, 3-loss Iowa State, Georgia, Oklahoma, Coastal Carolina...

Dude is an absolute clown. He’s just butthurt because he knows that his overrated squad shouldn’t have beat us last year.

Hope Day prints off those trash rankings and plasters them on every players’ locker.

Well that might be true, but that's not the comparison. The difference between Alabama and Cincinnati this year is much greater than between LSU and OU last year. And Cincinnati is probably the best group of 5 team in 10 years when it comes to talent throughout the roster. While 63-28 was bad, Alabama would beat Cincinnati 70-0.

When the BCS was ditched, one of the reasons given was that the new system would give non-Power 5 schools a more fair chance to participate.

But if the most talented group of 5 team in ten years goes undefeated, and still can't get in over Power 5 teams that couldn't even win their own conference, then that amounts to a rule that only Power 5 teams are eligible for the playoffs. Fuck, Cincy even had more wins over Top 25 teams than did either ND or Texas A&M.

If that's going to be the rule, then non-power 5 conferences should just say publicly that the system is a farce, and withdraw.

They probably should. There's a reason there are different divisions of college football. Mount Union would probably have fatalities if they played Alabama. The group of 5 conferences can do their own thing if they want.

Except Mt. Union is in an actual different division. Cincinnati isn't, and earned a shot. So what if Cincinnati won't beat Alabama? Neither will ND or Texas A&M. OSU likely doesn't have a shot either.

They played well enough to earn the shot, and that's what should matter. I just wish all 4 playoff teams could lose at this point.

They can. By everyone not watching the College Football Invitational. Do your part to make it happen Q!
Probably won't watch. Starting to feel more like a private club deal rather than an actual Division 1 championship. Sick of the biases.

My opinion is that if you don't win your conference championship, you're automatically out. Having a conference championship game like the Clemson/ND game, where both teams advance regardless of who wins, is a joke.
