2020 Buckeyes Football

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This season has been so disjointed that I can’t really get into this game. Honestly way more interested and excited about the Browns game on Sunday than I am for the Sugar Bowl. I’ll still watch and root for the Buckeyes but it won’t be the same for me like in past years.
For me, it's about beating Clemson more than anything and making things right with last year's game. Ever since that game it felt like we were destined for a rematch. The journey has been weird, long, and incredibly frustrating...but, we are here now. It's time to beat these fuckers.

If we're being honest with ourselves, College Football is all about the Playoff now anyway. What happens in the Playoff defines the season.

This really is a "prove it" game on so many levels:

For Clemson to in a way validate last year's win
For Dabo to validate his disrespect for OSU not playing a full schedule

For OSU to prove last year was a fluke
For Fields to prove he can win the big game and that a couple of stinker games he's had this year where just that, and he is a Heisman candidate
For Trey to prove he is The Man and not a one game flash
For Day...this game is not career defining, but it is huge. Huge huge. This game could really impact future recruiting so much.
For the Seniors who didn't get one more shot at the team up north...this is IT.
For the selection committee...OSU needs to validate their choice
And for the organization as a whole to prove to Clemson, Indiana, Alabama and all the other haters that they played the teams on their schecule and won...covid cancellations or not...so stfu.

That's sad and College football needs to go about fixing that.

Yea I'm with you.

NOt enjoying the playoff system anymore tbh. With almost no non-conference games i feel like it's a total guess as to who actually "deserved" to be in it.

And OSU played half a schedule. It just....doesn't feel terribly important tbh.

If they win it, I'm not gonna tell my kids about it. It won't be some special memory.

Speak for yourself. Winning it would be fucking amazing. Would be drunk for weeks.
Yeah...I think it's safe to say he would feel differently after it happened :chuckle:

It'd be a hell of a story...team that got robbed last year, had their season cancelled, had multiple games cancelled (to no fault of their own), fought through ALL that bullshit, to then ultimately take down Clemson and Alabama back to back? In what would surely be two epic games? Yeah, that would be amazing. Historic, even.

We're expected to lose as well, so it's really low risk high reward IMO. If we take an ass-beating we'll get clowned on but it's a strange season and we're the underdogs so whatever. Finally getting a win over Clemson though would be huge.

Right. I’m hugely invested in OSU but I’m not sure even I will throw a fit if we lose. Maybe I’ll feel different Friday if it actually happens. Hope we don’t have to find out!

The time to beat Clemson was last season. That was honestly one of the best teams in OSU history. I think that’s why I don’t give a shit about this game. It’ll be a massive upset if this team gets the job done.
Goddamit.

If we get blown out I'll just tune out of college football stuff til the next season rolls around, no biggie. If it's close and we lose it'll upset me, won't be able to help it even if logically I know we should lose.
