2020 College Football Season/Playoff Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Could you imagine? All that money FOX pays is really for those 2 games...

Selection show tonight should be interesting given OSU is coming off another cancellation...
It is true. When you think about it, most of CFB is driven off money. It is sort of nice that the Big Ten is aligned with FOX now vs ESPN. While it benefits OSU, the goal should always be to have the best two teams playing in the conference championship. IMO the Big Ten has made a ton of bad decision, lets hope they get this one right. I would love to see them change it to the two highest rated team in the playoff ratings play each other for the Big Ten Championship.

I don’t normally listen to Finebaum. But, he made a point yesterday that I agreed with about the minimum game rule. He said the BIG should change the rule to allow OSU in the championship game. His point was that the BIG was making it up as they go anyway and it isn’t ironclad like a Supreme Court ruling.

I agree. At the end of the day the rule was there to try and prevent teams from using COVID as an excuse to not play the hard games. We are at the time of year where you need to make adjustments. Let’s hope OSU does play the next 2 weeks and wins. But if a game is canceled for the sake of stopping COVID and protecting players, why punish those teams. The goal should be to see the best 2 teams play in the Championship game. I for one would support scrapping the division championship and put the highest rated teams in the playoff ranking in the game. The goal for the big ten should be to position there teams to get into the Playoffs. The Big Ten and teams take a huge hit of a undefeated OSU team missed the playoffs because of B10 rules.

Sounds like The Game is on life support. Hopefully another cancellation happens so we can play someone else. Or, GOD FORBID, the Big Ten is proactive and shuffles the schedule around (like the ACC and SEC have done) or just get rid of the 6 game minimum.

Minnesota is probably gonna cancel vs Nebraska. Nebraska would play anyone.

I just want Ohio State to get these next 3 games in, be 7-0, and make the playoff. After it's all said and done though, I'll just be glad this roller coaster ride ends. This shit has been going on since August with the canceling, and then the new schedule, and then canceling a week later, and then restarting but on 10/24 and not 10/17 leaving no bye, and then the dumb fucking 21 day and 6 game minimum rules, and then all the cancelations and the lack of Big Ten leadership to allow scheduling flexibility. I'm just done with it all. Fuck this conference and fuck Kevin Warren.

I know this is a crazy idea because the Big Ten leaders might actually have to fucking do something, but cant they adjust the schedule for Rutgers to play Nebraska so we can play Maryland? I mean I'll take a rematch over nothing at all but playing Nebraska, or any team twice in the regular season, is just fucking lame.

Any team with a cancellation can schedule any other team.

Wouldn't shock me if Maryland is free for that to happen. The teams have to agree to it and I'd bet they'd want to avoid a rematch if they can.
