2020 College Football Season/Playoff Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

This is inevitable :chuckle:

I’ve already seen a ton of it on Twitter from SEC and ACC fans. Fuck them. Every non-covid year the B1G plays 9 conference games while they play 8. Including FCS teams in late November. Not trying to hear it.

Funny enough I’m pretty sure OSU was the first team to win 9 regular season conference games. I’d have to double check that

If those SEC fans are trying to make an argument to exclude the Big Ten from the playoffs just to have a better chance of an SEC team winning, they are gigantic pussies.

The best (funniest) part is most of these guys are FSU, Texas A&M, Tennessee fans. Like why are you even worried about who gets into the CFB playoff.

Saw another tweet from a verified sports guy (I know that doesn't mean everything) but it said they heard from sources the B1G will not accept the rapid testing b/c they don't want to make the decision look political.

That person did not say if it is coming back or not, but just throwing that out there.

But again, with every tweet, source, etc. regarding this matter, who knows if that is true.

I wonder if the "leaks" coming from Nebraska and OSU - both of which have been vocal about resuming play - were just their attempts to force the hands of other Big Ten schools.

So, don't get me wrong, I'm excited and glad this is *finally* coming to an end and has a happy ending... I'm not trying to be ungrateful... but the October 24th start date is bullshit. Leaves no room for error, at all. 8 games in 8 weeks, 9 in 9 weeks including the B1G championship game. Why are we waiting 5 weeks to start the season? Teams have been practicing already. I saw something about Wisconsin and MSU quarantining still as the reason. Why can't Ohio State, or someone else that wants to, schedule The Citadel or Eastern Kentucky for a tune up game on 10/10 or 10/17?

I am shocked no bye weeks.
Poison pill.

A team can easily miss a game if they test or their upcoming opponent tests over 5%

At that point you're looking at a 7-0 or 6-0 Big Ten team missing the playoffs. That's if they even get to that point
