2020 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
No surprise there. Ohio State is recruiting, developing and playing at an extremely high level right now. This years team was special.

Think we are going to start to see guys like Terry McLaurin coming out every year. Great player that people nationally don't really know about until he's killing it in the NFL as a rookie. OSU had a lot of great players this year that didn't get the attention they deserve.

KJ Hill might be the next to turn some heads. Love that guy

Man, come on. That's nonsense.

I just mean simply in terms of being recognized nationally as being a great player. Nobody outside of Ohio knew who Terry McLaurin was a year ago. Now everyone does. The same thing happened with Michael Thomas. This really isn't something new, it's just I think there's multiple players on this years OSU team that fall in that category. It was just a really great team and nationally most people don't pay close enough attention to see those players. They just see the superstars and assume the rest of the team is just some dudes. I'm not saying these guys should all be award winners and 1st round picks or anything. But to me and the fans that follow closely, it was pretty obvious McLaurin was a better receiver than Campbell, yet Campbell got drafted a round earlier because...he was a tenth of a second faster?

Nah, think he’s referring to the players outside the obvious. Yeah, we heard about Chase all year. But a lot of other guys not so much. Wade and Hill are two that I think of right off the bat.
Right. Great players are overlooked all the time due to being overshadowed by elite players like the #1's (Fields & Okudah) and #2's (Young & Dobbins) for OSU this year.

Wade was a 1st round pick. Hill...idk, I'm going to need to see his combine before I really peg him, but I can see why some aren't high on him.

McLaurin was the product of being behind guys he probably shouldn't have at OSU yet he was still gaining hype in the draft process. If he produced more, he would have been an easy guy to select. Slipped through the cracks, ultimately ended up in the top 100, right?

I have no defense of Thomas, why he went in the 2nd round is both hilarious and awful.

Campbell was hyped because he was uber fast, which parts of the draft community really value. Not surprising they would take traits over tape with him.

I don't really see anyone in tOSU's class that is being that underrated. Young and Okudah are probably going to both go in the top 5, Young a lock to go 2. Is there someone else you don't see highly rated? KJ Hill is probably top 100, I don't think he's being underrated. Dobbins is probably going to be end of the 1st, top of the 2nd.

Mack and Victor haven't shown anything to college to garner any sort of attention in college, though Victor did a really good job at the Shrine Game, supposedly. Who else is there? Harrison is a dime a dozen linebacker...is there anyone else I'm really missing?

I mean I guess. Wade wasnt even listed as a notable returning draft eligible player by ESPN. Didnt hear him talked about much during the year as a potentially great prospect but probably because he played with Okudah.

I’m sure if you go digging you could find mountains of info on any player though.

The Buckeyes seem to be running a minor league NFL team there. Just feel like there’s a lot more talent outside the top couple most talked about dudes on the team. Figured that is what Ohio was saying.

Probably not the only college program we could say this about of course.

Well, using ESPN as any basis for draft analysis is the biggest problem. There are so many bigger, better places to get information from than ESPN. They are extremely bad.

Ohio State is well recognized by many people in the draft community. Wade was considered the best nickleback in the draft by far. He would have been mid to late 1st.

Yeah, get that. Dont want to speak for Ohio. My comment was in reference to mainstream talk. Not insider draft sites and actual scouts. Those guys know what they are doing I’m sure.

Right, we are on the same page here. Though I do think hype certainly affects draft stock to a certain degree.

The Browns scouts from most of the last twenty years would like a word with you. :chuckle:

Ben Bartch is absolutely dominating the Senior Bowl.

People have said he's "by far" the best OL on the South team.

So lets go to the tape.

complete jizz

how did this dude never get to a d1 school...

His footwork is so strong, don't see him turning on his man and chasing. Doesn't look too terribly strong, though.

Not sure where he would go, but my guess is that he's a day 2 super backup. Supposedly he looks good at G and T. Might be a guy like Forrest Lamp.
