For anyone that didn't watch the Eagles this year and simply looked at his total numbers, it might shade your opinion of Sanders a little bit. His numbers were impressive as is for a rookie, especially if you saw how limited his use was early on in the season. Jordan Howard was their #1 back and the Eagles really had no idea on how to use Sanders. When Howard got dinged up Sanders started taking off, especially in the passing game.
As a pure runner, Barkely is better without a doubt. However, Sanders is plenty capable as a runner and can take it to the house at any time. I actually believe Sanders is the more dynamic receiving threat, though Barkley is capable himself.
I don't know if Sanders will ever be a guy that's going to run for 1500 yds+ in a season, but I see him as being the type to put up 1000 yds rushing and receiving in the same season with 15 total TDs or more.
It'll be interesting to see how he's used from the start of next season now that the staff has a better idea on what he's capable of doing. He also happens to be a pretty good returner as well, though I'm not sure how long they'll leave him in that role.
