2020 Game #2 | #3 Ohio State @ #18 Penn State | October 31st, 2020 @ 7:30 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I’m not sure this is a championship defense. That was exceptionally weak effort by Wade on the touchdown. Got burnt, then doesn’t even attempt to make a tackle before he scores.

The positive is this appears to be more than a championship offense.

Ooooof. That punt. I dunno. Wins a win.

yeah I agree on the D. It looks weak sauce.

Up front play was much better tonight though- the problems seemed to be on the back en.

Running game has me scared. Three straight series nothing.

Feel like they could have hung 60 on Penn State if they weren’t hellbent on trying to establish the run when they were demolishing them threw the air. This could have been a 30 point rout that it seems like Day Tresseled.

Good win. But a lot to figure out.

I agree. I think part of it Day knows he can go that. But also knows the defense is young so control the ball, and we have to find a way to get the running game going.
On a side note, I would have liked to see us win by more to get more second string players in.

Just Teague in the run game isn’t going to work. Sermon doesn’t add anything different. Would’ve liked to see Chambers get a few carries, my impression from the few times he’s played is that he has a little more burst

Sean Wade got his ass whipped all night. Looked like he started to pout on that last TD when he didn't even try to tackle him.

The running backs are......not impressive. Teague runs hard. I don't know what Sermond does. He caught a pass in the red zone that a decent RB would have turned into a TD and he didn't get 5 yards out of it.

But neither are explosive.

Some of you are forgetting that Penn State has a lot of NFL caliber talent. This was supposed to be close.

Yea I'm not forgetting that.

I'm not in the "this isn't a championship caliber defense" crowd yet.

Penn State regularly recruits the very best WRs in the country that catch anything (can't recruit a QB to save their life though).

More concerned about our running backs making no one miss.

If Ohio State makes two 20 yard FGs (which is a concern) and Penn State isn't gifted a FG by the refs, this score is pretty ugly.

Gonna feel like finding a desert oasis when they get Pryor and Henderson on campus. Until then... this is what we have. I agree with the above poster, would like to see what Chambers has.

It’s borderline nitpicky, but because the expectations are so high, the run game, secondary and special teams were shaky enough to cost you a close game against an elite opponent.

Get the impression that they are playing pretty vanilla to try and protect health since it appears even a C+ game is a comfortable win against the rest of the Big 10.

The run game will get going. I actually didn’t think Teague played a bad game at all. I’ll take 110 yards and 4.8 a pop all day long.

Yeah, I thought Teague had a solid game. Not great, but good.

Defense is a bigger worry right now, IMO. Though, they were better tonight than the Nebraska game. Lots of time to get things right...
