2020 Lineup Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It's not though. I wish it was, but this team is full of question marks.

Can Carrasco be a full-time starter again? And at what level?

Can Civale/Plesac/Plutko hold down the 4-5 spots over the course of a full season?

Which Jose will show up?

Who can you count on in critical situations in the pen aside from Hand?

Who the hell will produce in the outfield?

They could win 80 games, they could win 90+, but with so much up in the air I'm not sure I'd be willing to bet they will match or top last year's 93 wins.

Yes, production from individuals varies from year to year, but we haven’t downgraded a single position.

Maybe we’re arguing two different things. I’m not guaranteeing more wins, although I would bet on that. I’m saying we’re a better team than we were last year as a whole.

We have literally done nothing but upgrade.

We got nothing out of Kluber/Carrasco last year.

We couldn’t count on anybody outside of Hand in the pen last year, but have added Clase/Karinchak to the mix this year.

Our OF is in better shape than it was last year with a full year of Mercado and an increased role for Luplow.

I have no reason to believe Jose will be anything but great for us again. He seemed to figure out his balance issues late in the spring.

A full season of Plesac/Civale is better than the hodgepodge of guys we threw out there over the course of last year before those guys drake claim to those spots in the second half.

We've downgraded the OF and rotation and upgraded 2B and maybe the bullpen.

Kluber was horrible in his limited time. I don't see how trading him downgrades the rotation as compared to last year.

Not sure we downgraded the OF, seems to be the same as last year to be honest. Puig didn’t really do shit when he got here.

Would you rather have Puig or Bauers/DeShields/Zimmer/Allen?

Who would you rather have this year:

Kluber, Plesac, Civale, or Plutko?
But Kluber didn’t actually do anything last year for us.

We’re talking about upgrading last year’s team to this year’s.

Puig didn’t actually do much for us last year.

You need to be looking at what our OF production was as a whole last year compared to what we expect this year.

I'd rather have DeGrom, which also has nothing to do with the original goal post of downgraded the rotation compared to last year.

Puig's OPS+ was 109 during his time here. Who among Bauers/DeShields/Zimmer/Johnson/Allen iz going to match that?

I’m going to go with the hodge podge we have at the moment considering the price alone. Was hoping for a platoon bat to pair up Luplow, but I don’t think that type of bat is out there anymore.

Rotation I’ll give you though. Wasn’t too happy with the Kluber trade. I do trust the front office/coaching staff enough that we can keep the starting pitching pipleine

You're avoiding the question. Kluber missed a ton of time last year, but we're comparing this year's roster to last year's. Kluber was in our rotation last year.
