2020 Major League Baseball Postseason

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I will chime in on this one. To me, it is pretty much a coin flip. However, I did pick NY. My main reason is that I hate the Tribe’s lineup. Cole and Tanaka will be formidable enough to shut the Tribe down. I see NY scoring just enough to squeak by in this one.
Cole can shut anyone down on a given day.. same with Bieber.. the key to this series is going to be Tanaka. Tanaka has had times when he just baffles hitters (not just Indian's hitters.. all hitters).. then there are other times when he can be had.. The key is making him get the ball above the bottom of the zone.. A low strike zone will NOT be beneficial to the Tribe hitters.. at all..

Just read the experts picks on the playoffs over at MLB.COM. Unsurprisingly, not much Tribe love , most have us getting bounced by the Yanks.. Shocker I know... But then there is this guy. I don't know who he is, but he was the only one who picked the Indians to win it all.. I like him...

WILL LEITCH

ALWC winners: TB, CLE, CWS, MIN
NLWC winners: LAD, STL, CHC, ATL
ALDS: TB-CLE -- Indians in 4
ALDS: CWS-MIN -- Twins in 5
NLDS: LAD-STL -- Dodgers in 3
NLDS: CHC-ATL -- Braves in 4
ALCS: CLE-MIN -- Indians in 6
NLCS: LAD-ATL -- Dodgers in 5
WS: LAD-CLE -- Indians in 7

My general rule in NCAA Tournament brackets -- which, amazingly, is what this all looks like -- is to pick upsets early but go chalk late. Which is why I surprised myself by essentially doing the opposite here: I have two Wild Card Series upsets (the White Sox, who don’t really feel like an upset over the A’s, and the Cardinals, who get to face a team whose top two starters are either out or questionable because of injury), but otherwise I went with the higher seed. But when we went late, particularly in the World Series, I couldn’t do it. I want Clayton Kershaw to have his breakthrough, and the Dodgers to finally win that World Series they’ve been looking for since the year Kershaw was born, but there’s something about Cleveland, in this odd dog’s breakfast of a season, being the one that comes out on top. That rotation can throw with anyone, and it feels like a Francisco Lindor World Series: He’ll do something amazing to remind us why we thought we’d be talking about him all season … and surely won’t stop this offseason. The Indians are the sort of team that will finally win when no one expects them to. This is that “when.”

A's sending Jesus Luzardo, LHSP, against the powerful RHH'ing CWSox lineup.. doesn't bode well for the A's.. The CWSox have to avoid the A's bullpen.. the A's pen can shut anyone down..

Old friend Michael Brantley with the 1st hit of the post season - a 2 out double that didn't go anywhere. 0-0 Twins coming up to bat.

The first game features what used to be called crafty veterans or junk ballers. Mike Cuellar looks on with satisfaction.

As for our Series with the Yanks. For reasons...and they are numerous...Ive posted in other threads, I'm optimistic.

The Yanks are not nearly the same team on the road.

Lady Luck was sitting on Greinkes shoulder in the first inning at Target.

When Maeda is wanting to throw a certain pitch, it takes five minutes for the catcher to go thru the signs, because there are so many options on the menu.

The A’s game started an hour later than the Twins game yet both are in the ninth inning now. This Twins game has been a long one.

Both early games over..

Both early games end with 4-1 score..

CWSox win

Twins lose..

Can't ask for better than this.. from an Indians perspective..

A crucial error for the Twins led directly to all three Astros late inning runs...errors both mental physical are so magnified in the playoffs. I am hoping our Tribe gloves pick us up..not just error free, but a few outstanding plays along the way to back our pitching!
