2020 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think once your drafted even if you don't sign the teams retain your "rights" until you are redrafted. If you are not being redrafted, then perhaps in a scenario like this, the "big money" teams would have to acquire the rights from the "bad teams" somehow.

I have thought about this and what they could do is steal from basketball a bit and have the price of the pick in like the first three rounds set plus anyone drafted in the first three the team controls their rights to play in MLB. Then allow teams to trade player rights/and or draft picks. 4th round on, it goes back to the old style in a sense.

FYI...

From JJ Cooper:

Hearing from a significant number of sources that the MLB is expected to send out of the 120 invites on Wednesday. As always in this story things could change, but that is the expectation.

Not sure what you need clarified....

I simply copied over the tweet from JJ Cooper...
At this moment the Tribe farm setup is among the majority of clubs not yet finalized. Hopefully we will know the final outcome (for the Tribe & the rest of the teams) come mid-week.. The 2nd sentence by JJ Cooper basically gives him coverage in case things change/ are delayed further...

I am trying to figure what he meant by the 120 invites? Does he mean the minor league players they will have in 21?

The restructuring of the minors will reduce the number of milb clubs from 142 to 120 (4 full season affiliates per MLB team... 30 x 4 = 120)
The "invites" are related to the clubs, nothing with players being invited to camp..

Thanks for the explanation.

Is this just for a COVID 2021 season or for the future?
