2020 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
In regards to not being that high on Valera. Law seems to be one of the few guys who doesn’t just jump at the chance to put recently drafted or international signees super high on the list. He values guys who have performed and reached the upper levels.

Also, those top 11 guys are all ridiculously talented.

Think you forgot a 'doesn't' between the 2 bolded words.

I know that is the biggest gripe with the MLB Pipeline rankings. Their Top 100 gets flooded by the most recent draft class.

Two questions, because I’m a scrub.

1. Jones going to his left doesn’t seem like that big of an issue at 3rd as say, SS/2B no?

2. With a gluttony of middle infielders, is there a reason guys with projected range aren’t moved to outfield to capitalize on weaknesses within the org?

Middle infield prospects will have greater trade value, so it's good for the organization.

They also will have higher expected pay in the majors, so it's good for the players.

Speaking of MLB Pipeline, here's their top 30 for the Indians:

On queue, I know a lot of lists are down on Allen and McKenzie after poor showings/injuries in 2019, but their rankings are really harsh in comparison to Espino whose highest level is 10 innings to a tune of 6.30 ERA in Short A ball. But he did have 18 Ks in 10 innings.

McKenzie and Allen could theoretically be positive contributors to the Indians later this season.

Personally with Jones I would almost say he follows Chisenhall and ends up in the OF. His bat will translate to the pros, but we gotta see if he can hit lefties and can field at 3rd base way better. He hasn't been able to do either which at the moment projects him as a Chisenhall type of player.

In a sense we almost need two lists, one of rank potential and the list of guys who could contribute to the big league team in the current season.

Getting a small taste of it today, but I will again stress it.

Most talent the Indians have ever had in the lower levels. Most talent, ever. In the 100+ year history of the Indians and the 50+ years since realignment in the MILB. Long way to go with those guys, but there are 10+ kids down there who legit have a chance to be superstars, top 5 or top 3 players at their position ceilings.

Prospects 365. Another top prospects overall listing (to 200) posted 3/9/20
