2020 MLB Draft: Barebones edition

There are still a number of roster moves to be made (like adding guys to the 40 man in order to play in major league games). Mike Freeman/ Cam Hill/ Dominic Leone (even Beau Taylor as the emergency catcher)..

There is currently 1 open 40 man spot.

I suspect there will be a couple more 60 man pool openings come the end of this week.

I really do not see us making a lot of moves with the 40 and 60 man to be honest. Like Mike Freeman should be added to the 40. I am not sure who all has opt outs, but I dont see anyone who does getting a big league spot on other rosters. I think our 40 man is set. If we make a swap, it would be a guy like Greg Allen or Hunter Wood for a non-40 man guy/cash/PTBNL but i really doubt that. What do you feel they are going to do?

I struggle with the notion that Tanner Burns or Logan Allen #2 (the recent draft pick) being more MLB ready over others already in the farm system like Adam Scott/ Luis Oviedo (R5 decision looming)/ Robert Broom.

Cases could also be made for Hunter Gaddis and a few other guys on the pitching side being added to the pool...

There are also a handful of position players in the system I wish could be added in order to receive organized practice/ instruction during this time (Alexi Planez/ Brayan Rocchio/ Raynel Delgado/ Richard Palacios/ Jose Fermin)..

Agree, it is not about them being ready to contribute, but more getting them on the right track, extra coaching, and some experience with no minor league season. It is all a matter of roster space on the 60...I imagine there will be lots of roster shuffling in the coming weeks.
