2020 NBA Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I've seen more than a few places basically label him a bigger Victor Oladipo and if that is truly the case.... I mean, you can't not pick him up. Even with Sexton and Garland already filling up the guard spots you have to do it. That size and athleticism is paramount to improving our perimeter defense and it also provides a different mode of attack that we simply don't have right now, and maybe never really have had at the guard positions?

I'd trade Sexton for a top 10 pick honestly.

In this draft? Whoooo boy, that is a no from me at least for now. Like, do you make that trade if you know you have the number 1 pick and Edwards looks like the real McCoy? I guess, but looking at the rest of the draft class and where we should be looking to establish core pieces... I just don't know. Especially when it looks like 80% of the top 10 are going to be PG/SG's.

This this draft is going to be more clear soon. I'm really not familiar with the draft yet, but Scottie Lewis could be interesting. Seems like a good fit at the 2.

Sexton infuriates me. He is a me first player and it pisses me off.

I think that's a pretty reductive way of looking at Sexton, personally. Like, does he have tendencies in his game that causes him to make "me first" plays? sure, but that's just as much a product of him being a young player who doesn't have a lot of experience. I'm not saying that those tendencies are bound to be completely erased, but plenty of players have come into the league with those characteristics and managed to refine and adjust their games in order to better contribute to their teams success.

None of these players excite me, besides Wiseman. I sure hope the Cavaliers don't get fucked in the lottery like last season.

Only way I'd draft Edwards is if he is a full time #3.

You know nothing of them.

You're right, I really don't right now. However, if they draft another guard... I'm not going to be happy. I didn't think they should have drafted Garland...but I'm warming up to it and am accepting it. Now there's no excuse to draft another guard with their first pick..unless (already mentioned) Edwards becomes a Small Forward for the Cavs.

My opinion is that Garland and Sexton can not co exist, both defensively and offensively; and together they will never be able to maximize their skillset and reach their potential.

Between the two I'd rather build around Garland. I think you can find a PG or a wing that can fit better next to Garland than Sexton without necessarily compromising for ceiling, at least on this team.

Was there a game a recently?

Not that I recall. I've seen plenty of videos of him over the years and watched his progress. I understand videos/highlights never quite paint the whole picture, but his sheer athleticism and ability is off the charts. Call me crazy, but I think Oladipo is going to end up being the kids FLOOR. I think he's going to be THAT good.

It will be a pretty interesting year. Garland has gotten off to a really slow start. And the Cavs are going to be tasked with (likely) having 3-4 guards at the top of their board, wherever they pick. If Garland kind of sleep walks through his rookie year and Collin is generally the same (looking for like a 6th man type on a good team), I think you really need to consider taking a guard, if they are the obvious BPA and figure out how you move one of the other guys.

Also really like Anthony Edwards, I think he's going to be a really good player.

I'm actually low key excited about this draft because I really like some of the prospects. Isaiah Stewart is another guy I'm really high on.

Way too early to tell how it will shape up but I think this could end up being a draft with a lot of depth all around.

Oscar Tshiebwe is another guy to look out for as a potential lottery big with a more flexible game suited for modern day basketball. Isaac Okoro if he declares for the draft could also be a real fucking gem in the rough.

A couple of somewhat under the radar guys I'd recommend any draft junkies to check out, if you haven't already.

Obi Toppin - Dayton
Grant Riller - Charleston
Trevelin Queen - New Mexico State
Naji Marshall - Xavier
Isaiah Joe - Nebraska
Ty Flowers - LIU
Zeke Nnaji - Arizona
Joe Wieskamp - Iowa

Iowa will be interesting to watch... Luka Garza is an NBA sized center that could be interesting if he puts up solid shooting numbers. Jordan Bohannon is one of the better PGs in the NCAA in my opinion, and could get a shot with someone in Summer League.

I talked about him some last year but I just love Paul Reed’s game. I’d imagine he’s kind of stuck in a bit of a basketball graveyard at DePaul and will probably be more of a guy that emerges around the combine but if he takes 1-2 (3’s) a game and continues to show his defensive pop, he is an incredibly attractive two way spacer / rim protector. He just has a unique combination of size, skill and shooting.
