Did Wirfs even play guard in Tampa last year? If so, I missed it.

I'd have to go through and watch a ton of film to get an NFL evaluation on him. It's just so damn hard to grade a tackle in a Tom Brady offense. Brady might be the best there's ever been at getting rid of the football and ensuring he doesn't take a sack.

That all being said, Wirfs certainly outperformed my prospect evaluation of him.

Wasn't there a tackle who just totally sucked this last year? Was it Becton or Thomas?

I guess my view on Wills is that thank goodness we didn't get a bust. That would be a real setback. I have no idea how Wills graded out but good thing he didn't suck - really don't need misses with 1st round draft picks - not if we're going to be contenders.

Thomas sucked.

Honestly, I haven't watched any of the film on these guys--but I wouldn't be surprised if people were overly critical of Thomas simply due to "sacks" he gave up--and I'm guessing that Daniel Jones's play had a lot to do with it.

When I watched the Giants, I was much more focused on their defense, which was crazy good.

I think Thomas played in a deep drop back offense. He’ll be fine. Just a rookie year.

It'll be interesting to see if the Giants line improves now that Jones actually has guys to throw to. He went from Evan Engram or Sterling Shepard being his best receiving option to having Kenny Golladay as his number one and the team added Toney in the first as well, who should play a role as at least a gadget guy early. Plus, they'll have Saquon back, as opposed to whatever pile of shit was backing him up last year.

I'm interested to see the media narrative about how much the giants line improves once they get rid of Daniel Jones.

As long as Jones is their qb, unless he magically gets a feel for the game and pressure, they're going to be terrible.

Wayne Gallman was actually not that bad

For the record, I don’t think Jones is the guy. But he also didn’t have much to work with.

Jedrick bump--

"You just wake up one day being left handed"
"Last year I ended the season at 328, and this year I came in at 313, 18% body fat"

If he can improve his run blocking then we’ll be firing.

Just stay healthy, for as great as reviews were there were really few games where we had all five guys rolling out on gamedays together.

Which does speak to the depth, coaching, development and scouting to find plug and play pieces and having a versatile vet like Hubbard. They still often gave Baker great time or lanes in the run game for our backs.

But Jedrick even touches on it during his interview, that by the end of the season no lineman escaes unscathed. Just too easy to get rolled upon and turn an ankle or knee and the severity all can be compounded when it's another 300 pound man {or two} falling atop of you.

The best ability remains availability. And a close second for the O-line I'd say is continuity.

It looks to be the Browns dodged a major bullet and Wills is not seriously injured. Good for his young career and the team. Missing week(s), instead of months is a blessing if it comes to that. Early season injuries are the worst to a team, so this is the best possible outcome.

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said second-year veteran LT Jedrick Wills Jr. is "day-to-day" after exiting Sunday's Week 1 game against the Chiefs with an ankle injury. "We'll see how he progresses throughout the week," Stefanski said.

Anybody else a little nervous that he'll be out this week?

I would rather he sit as opposed to playing a week 2 game against the Texans at home
