....Oops, wrong thread.

He ran a 4.48 with a 44.5" vertical. No Tyreek Hill, but 6'2" that's pretty damn good. Patterson underperformed and therefore killed his production. As you said, he'll be useful on special teams and has a lot of potential to develop with a better QB and in a better system.

Yeah he is one of those guys I think the system and lack of QB play hurt him at Michigan. At times he looked elite, but Michigan did not seemed to target him. I am going to go with the theory that Michigan just under utilized him and in the right system and coaching he will thrive.

To that end, he's got an 86th percentile speed score, which adjusts forty time for height and weight.

I just watched some highlights, and it's amazing how many times he beat his man, then had to adjust his body to a poorly placed ball and had to become a contortionist to catch the ball.

I think one reason he lasted so long is the lack of production, but also not a lot of short area burst in his cuts. That is actually not the worst issue in the offense Stefanski will bring in. When he took control from Shurmur, Diggs and Theilen ran more vertical routes leaving the crossing routes to tight ends and backs. So yet again, as long as Stefanski is the coach here long term, the players getting drafted are the right people for this coaching staff.

I love this pick. Take a guy that was the 12th ranked wide reciever nationally going into college. Underperforming offense in college but showed flashes. 6'1 and runs a 4.4 40.

Definitely worth a flier 6th round pick.

Although let's hope Braylon Edwards doesn't talk to him.

He is very athletic and at times, looked like the best player on Michigan's team. He wasn't helped by awful QB play and Harbaugh's coaching style.

Will be interested to see what Juice says about him. Landry spent time training with DPJ prior to the draft.

Michigan offense was really out of sync with their new system this year and they never quite figured out how to get him the ball enough. Patterson really struggled pushing the ball down the field.

I think if you watch all-22 on DPJ, you will be pleasantly surprised by how often and well he separated......especially when running those less sudden vertical routes......corner, fade, post, skinny post, go, mesh stuff underneath. He’s not great at driving off of the steeper breaking routes but I also doubt we ask him to do any of that.

He’s also good at hand catching, adjusting to the football and making tough catches. I think he needed to be in the right system and receiver room and certainly think he can do damage against the 3rd best cover man on any given team, at the NFL level.

My favorite part about the DPJ pick is how everyone is just slamming Michigan and Shea Patterson. It's glorious.

But on a more serious note, like I mentioned in the other thread, his talent alone is more than worthy of a 6th round pick. Definitely have some hope he can have a long career.
