2020 NFL Draft Thread - Day 2

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don’t know much about him. Just happy we got a LB.

The Ravens...

just making everything seem so easy.

Overall we will just have to see. I'm not gonna lose my shit over any of these picks.

Overall, I'm impressed with Berry's ability to navigate a draft.

I think the Phillips pick was questionable. Supposedly his ratings are all over the map. If you are a two year starter at LSU and no one notices you? Not a good sign.

That said, hes probably a BJ Goodson replacement.

I'm concerned that they have overlap in three linebackers who tackle well but have spotty processing and coverage records: Goodson, Taki Taki and now Phillips. It's like the front office is challenging the to break the tie by learning zone coverage first for playing time.

Any insight into how many LBs Woods likes to play on downs 2 & 3 and/or passing situations?

Reason I ask, is this may be a scheme fit where Browns are loading up on 2-down LBs and looking to put more DBs on the field for 3rd down and passing situation, perhaps with Wilson being the mainstay and Takitaki being utilized as a blitzer/pass rusher from the LB spot...

I'm not in love with the pick with other LBs on the board, particularly with a coverage LB severely lacking in this group, but it could give insight into what the FO values from the LB position and how the DC plans to run the defense...

I dig what’s left on day three, especially with us picking 9th (though likely to trade down, IMO).

Don't really know a ton about Phillips, but I think you have to expect some overlap especially in the first year of a new regime. For all we know, they might not think much of Taki Taki.

I'd still expect the Browns to take another LB in the draft and either make a trade afterward or pick up a cap casualty. We're not going to solve every problem in one off-season, especially with the number of holes on the defensive side of the ball.
