2020 NFL Draft Thread - Day 3

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Harrison Bryant.

Dude won the John Mackey award,,,I'll take that,,,seems a bit like Hooper to me anyway.

Something to keep an eye on moving forward:

Wills - 20
Delpit - 21
Phillips - just turned 21
Elliott - 22
Bryant - just turned 22

Browns seem to be turning their attention to younger players, particularly for their class status...

I believe @jking948 may be able to speak to it more, but analytically, young players producing at a high level tends to be a positive and accurate indicator for future success...

Yeah, so aging curves are really important. Most positions reach the peak of their aging curve around 23, because most players get kicked out of the league before that.

Discounting players that retire in their first two years, prime age ranges from 25-27 years old, depending on the position. The elite of the elite are a bit older.

The bigger point is, if you assume you have “x” number of years to develop a prospect, you would rather them be better at a younger age. It ostensibly gives you more time to convert the player to their ceiling.

I love that K’von Wallace pick for the Eagles. He and Terrell Burgess were both guys that I thought could be long-lasting nickel safeties/slot corners.

You want to know why the Browns wanted some of that Vikings FO success? Look at their draft. It's incredible. Dye in the 4th is really good value.

Troy Dye is another guy that I am surprised lasted so long. He’s a tweener, but the guy is great in coverage.
