2020 NFL OFF-SEASON THREAD

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Cody Latimer, one of Dayton's finest, also in trouble. Pretty nasty twist:

Crazy, but doesn't talk about the sexual assault of his 4 year old...not sure how it all ties together.

Push update to my phone just now: "Melvin Gordon says playing for Chargers prepped him for playing empty stadium games."

:chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Still no additional info these past 2 weeks.

As tempting as it is, vigilante justice against the perv is still against the law; also, regardless of one's stance on guns, it's generally agreed that any alcohol whatsoever is illegal and discouraged with firearms. Minimally there will probably be some sort of conviction on that latter gun charge.

On another note, back story on what Aldon Smith needed to get out of the rockiest of the rock bottom:

Boss Hogg statue in Charlotte comes down:

I am surprised there wasn't more of an initial push after the ownership change, even though it was apparently part of the contract to keep the statue.

Apparently, going in the opposite direction of others in these sorts of recent events, USC is looking to bring back their Reggie Bush recognitions, which makes sense from the standpoint that OJ has always had the same in the buildings.

Sounds like Pig Pen has another thing in common with the guy we drafted instead of him, Kellen Winslow.

OBR had an...interesting/imprecise choice of headline, that surprisingly no one there commented on.

So he's been addicted to alcohol, porn, and now christianity. Hopefully he isn't addicted to sexual assault anymore.

What a loser.

Another way of looking at it, maybe he could get addicted to CONSENT. :chuckle:

Putting aside the "everyone does it" argument on pr0n, with Winslow it seemed like he was always hypersexual, from the teammate stories we're hearing, and probably his issues got worse because of hits to the head.

While none of us can judge and yadda yadda, with Pig Pen the Christianity thing feels like for show. I remember how he went out of his way to let us know that he and then-fiancee Ashley weren't going to shack up before marriage...

It's entirely for show. He is a terrible person. Say what you want about organized religion, that is a whole other story, but those that deem themselves good christians don't maliciously corner women into restrooms. This is a quote from the article:

"Now more than ever, it's cool to be a Christian, especially professional athletes," Roethlisberger said. "One of the things I want to tell guys and tell people out there, I can be a really good athlete and a Christian. It's not one or the other. I can do both. I want it to be known to all of the young men out there, it's cool to be Christian and be an athlete. Go ahead and be the best athlete you can be and see if you can be a better Christian. And that's what I'm trying to do now. I'm trying to be a better Christian than I am athlete and football player. I push myself every day to do that, and it starts here. It's not always easy."

He is basically admitting to using christianity as a platform and ESPiN putting out articles like this is part of the problem. If he had just been your run of the mill NFL player, he wouldn't have been given chance after chance.

He can take his "i've found myself through christianity" manipulation and fuck right off.

Russell Wilson I actually believe on his faith stories...if only because when he met Ciara he actually had experience with getting cute with it rather than punching it in the endzone.

Another member of the 1972 Fins, only Super Bowl-era team to be undefeated in the regular season and playoffs, has passed - RB Jim Kiick.

Unfortunately, the self-selecting nature of these brain donations by family members seeing health conditions, and the fact that he had dementia, means a virtual certainty of CTE:

Reddit notes that this autopsy will be instructive in telling just how much we've advanced in our player safety measures and such.

Cam Newton signing with New England

Will be interesting what moves they make to fit his contract in considering they had only $1.3 million prior

Man, people talk so much about bad QB play throughout the league and of all teams fucking New England signs him for table scraps?

I think that window is closed for him but that’s a no brained flyer for so many teams in the league.

At least they didn’t trade for Foles.

They also are being docked a 3rd rounder and fined $1.1MM, and not allowed to film their own games for this coming season, as a result of Spygate 2.0 in our stadium.

"The damage is done, my friend!"
