Would be much more comforting if MLB announced additional MLB personnel in the team replay booth to help prevent cheating like this from occurring.

Hell, you could kick the entire team out of the league for a year, and as a fan I wouldn't give a damn if it got us a World Series.

This isn't going to stop teams from cheating. It simply isn't enough.

Meanwhile teams like the Indians got fucked out of a fair chance to win during two years of a contention window. And lets be real, the Astros & Red Sox weren't doing this for just one year.

Feel like it should have been steeper as well.
But cheating to win the world series only works with Elite roster talent. White Sox couldn't cheat their way to a title last year.
The loss of the picks will reduce the pipeline of future talent for the future roster or more immediate trades.

My inference about the penalty is that MLB has discovered a lot of cheating going on around the league in its investigation and couldn't pull off an outright ban of either or both of those guys, so it settled on the one year suspension.

I think you're confusing the 2017 Tribe (who lost to the Yankees before ever playing the Astros) and the 2018 Indians who sort of cruised all year and were carried by 3 hitters and a solid, yet not as dominant, pitching staff that lost Bauer late in the year.
