2020 Off-Season Rumors/News

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Vacating titles is the worst part about college football please don’t try to port it to other sports

You can’t change history. They cheated and they won the World Series. As AZ said put systems in place to catch it before a World Series is won next time.

But vacating titles is what keeps me from ever getting into college football. They won. Prospective punishments please.

I would GLADLY take a World Series title if all it meant was that we had to can Tito/Chernoff after, lose a few first and second rounders, and have Dolan cut a check for $5 million.

That’s not even a question.

Cheating doesn't guarantee you the world series though. So with the precedent set and eyes sharply on the issue, are you willing to face those consequences. For a second round exit? Or worse?

Anyone review the report released by Manfred???
Hinch & Luhnow basically punished for lack of institutional control (to quote the NCAA).
Fine & loss of picks punishes the organization now & into the future.
Report is suggesting Cora (then Houston bench coach) had an active role in the cheating... If that is true, I think he is facing a lifetime suspension (especially with other issues involving the BoSox)...

Good. F the Red Sox

Maybe just me but I never understood vacating victories. If they vacated the Cubs win in '16 it wouldn't make me feel like we won.
Its supposed to punish the team that broke the rules. Oklahoma doesnt have the 2004 ncaa championship just because USC had to vacate

I think a lot of people here had very unrealistic expectations with vacating championships. While people are on here saying this is light punishment, actual players are praising the punishment as just and harsh.

Rumors are Cora's punishment will be even more harsh.

Anyone else extremely frustrated with the Tribe's inactivity this offseason--most certainly due to ownership's payroll cuts--during a time when two of the top teams in the AL are in states of chaos and we only have Lindor for two more seasons? I just can't understand the logic in penny-pinching when there is a real opportunity to compete for the pennant this season. Oh well...

Dude. It's January 14th. The Indians added a bullpen arm and the best free agent second baseman available.

Furthermore, neither of those teams' players are going anywhere. You think the Astros are magically not going to be a world series favorite because they lost a manager and a GM?

Nope, not at all.

Not at all, fans haven't shown up for four 90+ win seasons.

Those who understand the business of baseball, or any business for that matter, understand that there is little to gain for them by taking a historically unsuccessful method (free agent spending) to try and improve.
