2020 Off-Season Rumors/News

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Kipnis taking a minor league contract with the Cubs.
yep. Not 8M a year. Minor league deal.

Question for the group: would you rather have Hernandez/D. Santana or Ozuna/one of Kipnis/Gennett/Dozier?

Before someone says it, we have no idea if Ozuna would've signed the same deal...just curious to hear opinions.

The Hernandez/Santana combo because if Santana falters I believe we have more potentially viable outfielders than we do second basemen

If money isn't a factor, I'd take Ozuna and Dozier.

Ozuna has the safest floor and probably the highest ceiling on anyone listed there. Gennett may edge him out for offensive upside, but the guy looked absolutely terrible last season when he returned from injury. Santana has great offensive potential too, but he gives so much back defensively.

I know Dozier has fallen off some, but I think he's capable of hitting near 30 HR if he were playing for the Indians and given regular playing time. Solid walk rate, decent/average defense- he's someone I would've been interested in to fill the 2B role had we not signed Hernandez.

Also, in lieu of the Astros "apologizing" today, Jim Crane must've missed skipped the PR prep meeting

The dude who originally broke the Santana news says he passed his physical.
My guess is they're delaying announcing the signing in order to finalize who will be cut from the 40-man roster.
DFAing Greg Allen seems to be the most logical move.
Don't know if that is most logical but your suggestion is possible.

It is also possible to move players onto the 60 day IL now. Another team has already done it.
Tribe might move Naquin now to get that 'clock' started & hold onto all others until they absolutely have to make other moves at the end of spring training..

Well, raising the double-bird to all your critics is one way of addressing criticism....

Love ESPN's Marly Rivera going after Crane

This reply is perfect too

Just baffling how an organization has butchered every bit of controversy, from a PR perspective, since the Brandon Taubman incident after the ALCS

If he and others want to believe their roster was still great and could've won the World Series without cheating, great, but keep it to yourself because nobody else wants to hear that

I cannot wait for fans reactions to the Astericks this year.
With how defiant they have been? It's gonna be awful. I expect 'Cleveland vs. Belle' type schenanigans- including the subtle racist undertones.

Astros have to use a Hubble strength telescope to look up at pond scum.
