2020 Off-Season Rumors/News

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The dual cities idea isn't a terrible idea if the teams are struggling selling seats to 81 games. This would condense games in the struggling market to 40 and bring an additional 40 to a city that has zero baseball. I'm intrigued by it

Tony Fernandez passed away. Sent the Indians to the World Series with a homerun in ‘97

Also committed a major error in game 7 of the World Series.

Overall a smooth player and enjoyed watching him...

Sure, if they are relatively close.

Tampa and Montreal is about as far as you can get in North America

Is it safe to say that the Astros will see the most inside pitches by a landslide? No players respect these cowards. I imagine fines and suspensions may be higher than usual.

Idk how the schedule would play out but MLB teams travel across the country on a weekly basis. 4 games here 3 games there. The travel isnt that big of a deal when they're playing 3 game series'.

That's really easy for you to say when you're not involved.

That team would be at a competitive disadvantage for all players who want to be home half the season, rather than just a quarter of the season.

He said he was intrigued by it, not that it was perfect.

I think we’d all agree there are a lot of logistical concerns that would need to be addressed to make this work for anybody.

Actually I don't see him claiming either--at least in the post I replied to.

was the part that stood out to me as something that's easier to say from the outside when you're not the one being impacted. I know that if I were a baseball player, that would rule this team out for me as a free agent destination because I value my time at home with my family.

Sigh

I won't get sucked in, I won't get sucked in....

@BimboColesHair did state the FO of the Indians will do their best to sign Lindor long term. So these talks are not surprising to me at all. The question is the market say 30+ mil in free agency, while the Indians have never offered more than 20 mil to a player. Can the sides come into a compromise that works for both sides? It's never been a question if Lindor wants to stay and the organization wants to keep him, but how do you stop a man from leaving when the offer elsewhere is like so much greater than you can offer?
