2020 Off-Season Rumors/News

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
According to an interview with manfred he promised the players immunity if they participated in the investigation. Thus they arent being punished at all.

But 100% they should have the title taken away if thats the case. They cheated their way to a world series championship. They deserve that to be taken away
What’s the point of investigating if their won’t be a punishment to those you’re investigating?

The point was to get people to talk and wrap things up. Whether you agree with it or not, that was the thinking.

People are going to be very disappointing when the Astros are treated just like any other team by opposing players outside of ~3 instances

I think you're right, but that's actually a smart move on the players.

Why give the Astros another competitive advantage by gifting them baserunners throughout the season with intentional HBP?

Outside of a move by the MLBPA, I don't see what can be done further. Manfred has already handed down his punishment, and while I see it as just a little more than a slap on the wrist, I doubt he adds more on.

So if it comes out Altuve and company lied about the buzzers, then they didn’t actually fulfill their end of the bargain which granted them immunity

truthfully if they lied during investigation I really don’t think any mercy should be shown on them. Multi year bans and id be ok if they never came back. This was a serious investigation for a huge scandal. In exchange for immunity for the cheating you actively participated in you’ll tell the whole truth. If it comes out later that you lied during an investigation I really don’t see what place you have in the MLB candidly

Single game tickets are on sale. It's been a long time where opening day tickets are just sitting there with some sections completely available. Either people really don't care about this season or refuse to pay $65+ a ticket in March or both.

Yeah, definitely not a great sign. For the past 3 years I know they completely sold out after 10 minutes of going live

Opening Day is really fun but I passed on tickets last year (and will this year too) when I scaled back on my ticket package and Opening Day was no longer included. I can deal without sitting in a bad section in terrible weather for $70 + inflated parking prices

I am glad it has not yet sold out. Playing at home in March/early April is not a good idea. I have a 20 game plan and usually transfer my April (this year, also March) tickets to summer games.

Every 3rd inning their leadoff hitter should start with an 0-2 count.

Since they previously competed with a competitive advantage, we should make them suffer a competitive disadvantage. They previously had extra information about the pitch, so this year they have to compete with less information about the pitch. They all have to bat blindfolded.

I’m not glad because I think the end result of our decreasing fan support is much more likely to be the team moving than the MLB reconsidering when they start their season
