2020 Offseason

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So the NBA is assembling in an Orlando bubble to continue the season. But right now, Florida is one of the Covid-19 hot spots in the world. Some Florida mayor's are saying they should be shut down again. This has a recipe for disaster with the NBA moving in. Even in a bubble there will be leaks.
I'd still like the Cavs to get together somewhere. Just in a smaller group and for maybe 2-3 weeks.

All signs are that this is a "hell or high water" bubble; Florida will not rescind the "essential worker" designation, and honestly, at the time Orlando was chosen it seemed like a good spot case-wise.

Although Vegas as a spot for the West half of the playoffs, to reduce the spread potential, as well as maybe just 16, 12 or even 8 teams total in the restart, also seemed like a good idea.

My guess is that it would take an older coach like Pringles or Gentry getting seriously ill to permanently stop beyond a few weeks and not crown a champion...

Does Disney world have a proper basketball stadium or are they just going to be playing on random courts?
I say scrap the season and get on with the draft because fuck the other teams

The good people of Milwaukee, who besides the Packers have had to wait 50 years for a championship - sound familiar? - deserve better than that, as do Clips and Raps fans.

And yes, I'm also in the "I don't hate LeBron" camp...

With all due respect to the good people of Milwaukeee, I could not care less about them or their team. Raptor are one of the most whiniest fanbases too by the way,.

Well, life has to go on, and I will definitely watch at least some marquee games.

Apparently, per Zach Lowe there is no official threshold to what constitutes stop-worthy "significant spread" in the restart terms.

I want Hartenstein
Yeah might be a diamond . Hes had some really impressive explosions of dominant basketball.
I think houston will regret waiving him just like Cleveland did after moving Danny Green
In a win now move

Fee thoughts:
1) NBA will not finish the season. The bubble is a waste.
2) Its a damn shame the Big 3 broke up here. We would have had a shot last season and an even better one this year. If the cap was shrinking, we would be odds on favorites until LBJ was done.
3) Our guard situation is a problem. Its a good one though. Collin puts in more work than anyone and its showing in his play. He deserves to be the starter. Garland has a very smooth skillset that could project him very high. Problem is, he is not the better player. Nor does he seem to have the body of an NBA player.
4) KPJ has the ability, feel and skillset to be a real problem for this league. He is your SG. He can play SF in a small ball lineup, but will be at a disadvantage defensively. This kid will be special, i just hope its here.

^ I think KPJ is interchangeable as a 2 or 3 defensively and if they they have the option of drafting a 2-way wing like Vassell or Okoro that either could share the floor with KPJ and Sexton effectively.

Why are we wasting a roster spot on that scrub? The last thing we need is another big. Especially an undersized one who can shoot and can’t protect the rim.

I like they’re bringing back Wade but not a fan of Bell, his contract isn’t guaranteed at least

Good luck White Wilt... Wished Ante worked out as a bench player for the Cavs but did not woked out/ was not given enough chances... Sincerely wish he gets his career on track in Europe, seems like a nice guy from afar and did not act like a malcontent given how his playing career went with thw Cavs...

Zizic signs with Real Madrid

Anyone know how the Orlando bubble works from a logistics and staff personnel perspective? Are all non-NBA team staff required to operate the remainder of the season (arena staff, vendors, hotel management etc) to remain inside the complex at all times?

We had an incident down here in Australia where an AFL (Australian Rules Football) player tested negative twice for COVID, then positive 2 days later. The media went into a frenzy. Two days later he tested negative again. We either have no idea how to administer the test, or results in these kinds of environments are flakey at best.

1 in 10,000 tests yield a fake positive, the AFL tested so many players so many times one was bound to pop up and that was it. I know another person who has had a fake positive which would have caused a hospital into a major spin if it werent a fake positive as they were a patient not in a covid designated area

Abbott’s ID NOW rapid COVID test suggesting that infected patients were wrongly told they did not have the coronavirus, which had led to the deaths of tens of thousands of Americans. The problem is the numbers of
false negative results not false positives imo.
I am not sure what NBA is utilizing but there are a lot of different options and given the NBA will need to know quickly they are definitely using a similar rapid result type of SARS-CoV-2 testing which seem to be the least reliable so far.
