It won’t happen, for the trade to be worthwhile for the cavs they’d have to keep Sexton and for the trade to be worthwhile for the 76ers they’d need to get Sexton.

fedor is a fucking moron with zero sources.

with that said I'd trade the entire team for Simmons

So we'd be Philly, except without Embiid, Tobias Harris, Al Horford, and Josh Richardson? No freaking way.

Simmons is a very good player, but he needs a very particular kind of team around him to be a true championship contender. Namely, shooters everywhere else, including at the 4 and 5. It takes years to acquire those kind of assets, and if you're trading away all our useful players to get Simmons, you're guaranteeing craptastic status for years. He'd be the perfect backcourt partner for Sexton, but if we're trading Sexton....

Just no.

I don’t think it’s a hard no, although I’d like to see what Sexton can do this upcoming year. But his trade value is likely high now if they don’t believe he can take another step forward. Being an annual playoff contender after losing LBJ would be a feat for this organization.

Sexton has steadily improved his game every season. I doubt he has reached his full
potential. He has the skills and attitude to become a perennial all-star. For my $$,
he's a keeper.

Simmons is damaged goods now, and needs knee surgery. Not an ACL, but knee surgery is knee surgery. Probably out the rest of this season, and I could see him not 100 for whenever next season starts.
I agree that Simmons and Embid need to be separated. But hard to gauge value because he is sorta unusual.

Fedor is trying to make some noise, can't believe people are running with it.

Anybody follow the Cavs on Instagram? Looks like KPJ, Garland and Windler are in town and working at the Cleveland Clinic Courts. I hadn't heard that anybody was in town other than Nance. That's good to see.
It's just a crime this team won't be allowed to play any games for about 3 more months.

I heard kpj was around. Nance said he was there by himself about 3 weeks ago. Good to hear the young guys are getting in work. I would like to see Collin with them.

Now that we have stronger indications that the Cavaliers will at least *attempt* to be a playoff team next season, can we agree to that they aren't gonna get 3-4 rookies (ahem, @JJ_PR ) and start thinking about more realistic (aka, boring) tinkering the roster will see?

Chris Fedor came up with some stuff today. On the goal for this season:

Fedor's sources are his daydreams, or he just sits in front of the mirror and interviews himself. He typically throws a bunch of darts, hoping that one will hit the target eventually.
To be fair to him, what else can he write about now?

I think the Cavs plans and chances for next season are directly related to the lottery results. A pick around #5 will do little to move the needle.
However a top 2 pick could add significant talent to the roster. Either with a premium rookie, or trading the pick in a package for some veteran talent.
