The thing I like about Tristan is that he tries not to play outside himself. He knows he's not one of these bigs that stretches the floor offensively. And, defensively he plays very hard despite getting outmatched by bigger centers.
Drummond is bigger than most centers but get pushed around like he's a small forward....And,he really need to stop acting like a point guard.
If, Drummond had Tristan's heart nobody should be able to score in the paint easily.
I think Drummond and Tristan are actually really good for each other, I almost don't want one with out the other now (that may sound crazy to some). I think Tristan can actually push Drummond and help him become the player he needs to be and I think Drummond forces Tristan into his best role, which is energy big off the bench and he can also play in crunch time lineups. The only thing is, I don't want the Cavs to grossly overpay to retain either of these guys. I think it would be nice to have them both at market value, then that position group is basically set and it allows you to find a young big to develop with solid vets already in place.

I think Russ is one season away from being cooked. It’s all fun and games until Gilbert trades for Westbrook just so he can finally make the playoffs (8th seed) without lebron.
Agreed, because the Cavs gotta start thinking about Sexton soon and then Porter and Garland, afterwards.
I would be in favor of bringing back Thompson for 1 or 2 years at a reasonable salary as Drummond's backup. Hopefully, TT could take Drummond under his wing and impart some wisdom.
However, I would think twice about resigning Garland at this point, Fortunately, that decision doesn't have to be made for several years. But as it stands, I think the Cavs will have many better options at PG when the time comes. If Altman takes a big PG in this year's draft (please no Avdije or Toppin), then he should look to trade Garland before his contract comes due.
I'm all in on resigning Sexton and Porter.
Their stats weren’t even that dissimilar and Herro had the benefit of having elite defenders around himTyler Herro has made the Cavs drafting Darius Garland look even worse
The Cleveland Cavaliers took Darius Garland at the 5th overall spot in the 2019 NBA Draft, yet Tyler Herro of the Heat continues to make the pick look bad.factoryofsadness.co
What an unfair article by the author. To compare Garland to Herro is ridiculous...Garland haven't played basketball for a year and he was expected to start immediately. On top of that, the Heat has more stability at the coaching position.
