Eight runs for the Twins, all on home runs. Last night all three runs came on home runs. So that's 11 runs so far, all via the long ball.
Indians pitchers need to stop throwing A) high sliders in the middle of the zone, and B) fastballs right down the middle. Anything up in the zone better be a fastball and it better be at the top or above the zone or on the corners. Breaking balls need to be down.
In Buxton's first at-bat he hacked at Plesac's first pitch, a cutter on the outside corner, and popped out. So the next time up Plesac figures Buxton won't swing at the first pitch again. Wrong. He throws a fastball right down the middle and Buxton hits it out. Third time up Buxton swings at the first three pitches - all breaking balls out of the zone.
Memo to Indians' pitchers - Buxton comes up hacking. Don't throw him any strikes if you don't have to. Same with La Tortuga. Never saw a pitch he didn't like.
