2020 Series #5 - Tribe @ ChiSox - Aug 7-9

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Must win series?

Pretty close IMO and a series sweep would be awesome! Should be an extremely competitive series.. Potential for things to get feisty, I get the impression the ChiSox don't care much for our tribe.

I hope the Tribe hitters can start getting the results that align with their talents...perhaps last night helps loosen them up a bit, as many seemed to be pressing. I really liked all the walks.

Nah...not that I do not want it, but 3/4 of a season to go.

It's actually a running gag where posters would pose the question during a 162 game season during the first handful of series.

However, things are a little different for 60.

Nice!

This series sets up very well for the Tribe. Civale allowed 2 runs in 6 innings in his first start against the Sox. Dylan Cease has a 6.48 ERA and gave up 4 runs in 2.1 innings against the Tribe 10 days ago.

Tomorrow Plesac goes against what looks like a bullpen day. Sunday it's Biebs against Giolito, who has a 5.73 ERA but shut out the Tribe for six innings in the first series between these teams. That could be a great pitching duel.

You have to give the pitching edge to the Tribe in all three games.

In addition, Tim Anderson is out with a groin strain. He's hitting .333/.922 and had six hits in the first series, including three doubles and a home run. He scored four of the Sox's 10 runs in that series. If this turns out to be a series of close, low-scoring games the loss of Anderson could be huge for the Indians.

Hopefully the Indians can get Cease out of the game after four innings or so tonight which would make their bullpen throw four innings tonight and eight tomorrow. In that case they would be somewhat depleted going into Sunday's game. Their bullpen went 4.2 innings last night.

Well done...just starting the same thread, but then noticed this one.

Tonight’s lineup:
sort of surprised the see DeShields, Mercado, and Zimmer manning the outfield spots, but nobody else is tearing it up...lots of speed, anyway.
That's one hell of a defensive outfield, offense on the other hand . . .

different spin on the truncated schedule --- if we were playing as originally scheduled, today's date would be April 17th +/-

(some of us would be cutting players, CATS would be telling us "no changes till Memorial Day - lol)

Down 0-2, Cesar draws a walk.

I like it.

Lindor does what Lindor does best. Strand baserunners.
