2020 Trade Deadline Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

I like him but WR is one of our least needed upgrades.

Thielen is an excellent player, but if the Browns were to trade for him that would mean one of Beckham or Landry is 100% for sure guaranteed to be off the team in 2021.

There's just no way on earth they could or would pay three WR's 15M a year apiece.

Or if they get thielen cheap enough they could trade him in the offseason.

For the record, I'm on board with trading for Thielen if the price is right and moving on from Beckham in the offseason, but I'm not convinced the Browns are anywhere close to being in that headspace yet.

The odds of the Browns being able to trade Thielen for more than they are able to get him for right now seem incredibly slim, no?

Sure. But hypothetically speaking, if you could trade a 4th for him and then trade him for a 5th or 6th in the off-season, wouldn’t you do that?

I think relative to our playoff positioning and also how important of a development year it is for Baker, if you can reasonably acquire a replacement for OBJ, I think you do it.

I’d imagine Thielen won’t be super expensive, relative to the money owed to him but I guess we’ll see.

I don't really see the point of trading for Thielen and then trading him again in the offseason. If anything, I think this would be a signal that either Landry or OBJ will be gone a year from now.

You trade one of those two and then use a day two pick on a receiver to be Thielen's eventual replacement.

Thielen is three years older than Landry at 30. Not what would appear to be a long-term replacement even with lower milage.

He is having a good year and catches a lot of TDs.

Landry is not having a Landry year due to injury and the yips or whatever.

It’s a pass on both for me but they’re available

Landry currently has career high yards per target and 2nd highest yards per catch and catch rate. The percent of his catches and targets resulting in 1st downs are right in line with his career averages. His drop rate is normal and Baker's rating when throwing to him is higher than the past 2 years. He's having a good year. The only real efficient metric that's down in that he has no TDs, however, the Browns are currently 3rd in redzone td%, so it isn't like that's hurting the team.

The thing that is down is his targets. He's just over 5.5 a game. Previous career low was his rookie year, which was 7 and his career average coming into the year was 8.9.

Honestly, Jarvis at around 6 targets a game might be his best use.

Maybe it’s just me, but in the games I’ve watched, Worley has been on the receiving end of several huge plays and touchdowns.

In a completely hypothetical scenario, he would somehow make the Browns defense even worse than it already is. Subtraction by addition.

I wouldn't be so quick to judge literally anyone on that Cowboys defense.

Mike Nolan could be the worst coordinator in all of football.

That’s fair.

Truthfully, I haven’t watched enough Cowboys football to make a completely informed comment, just what I’ve observed in passing.
