2020 UDFA Signings

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Brown might be the jewel of their UDFA class and the money is a strong indication they see him making the roster...He was the 172nd player on Arif Hasan’s consensus big board, which is a similar value to what they paid him...

The Browns have added 3 CBs so far this offseason there’s an interesting link: Kevin Johnson is 6’, Donovan Olumba is 6’2” and Green is 6’1”... In a league, and even division, prioritizing speed, Browns seem to be valuing size in Woods scheme, perhaps an indication of more zone coverage looks...

Any chance they're thinking of converting one of those guys to safety?

Austin Hall, Memphis had a heck of a pro day.
6'1, 220.
40: 4.50
Vert: 40
L-Drill: 6.84
Bench: 17
Broad: 10'

4 year starter at the star position, bouncing between LB and S. Not expected to be drafted, but he fits the mold of fast, athletic, versatile defenders. Will need to be a ST stalwart to stick.

Any chance the Browns sign OL Scott Frantz from K State?

Really excited about AJ Green. I think there is definitely an opportunity for him to make the roster. The only CB locks I see on the roster are Ward, Greedy, and Kevin Johnson.

T Mitch, Donnie Lewis, Green, Olumba and a few others will compete for the 4th and 5th CB spot. Mitch might have the upper hand, but I have no doubt that if the Browns love to of the younger guys, they cold cut ties with him.

Also curious to see the final fine print of how he practice squad works in the new CBA. I *think* there is more team protection on being able to move people to and from the practice squad safely without them getting poached, but not 100% sure.

Finally, I propose a nickname for Green of AJ the Redeemer.

He has a chance to make up for the horridness of his fellow OK State alum CB, Justin Gilbert. Wouldn’t it be wild if we eventually got what we thought we’d get out of our 1st rounder Gilbert from a UDFA? Truth be told, even if he just gives a few years of solid back up and special teams play, that alone would far surpass what we got from Gilbert.

Just one man's opinion, but I'm looking at Thor Nystrom's Top 500 board. Here's where the Browns draft picks and UDFA's stack up. He had Alex Taylor as a late 4th/early 5th round pick, AJ Green as a late 5th/early 6th round pick and Brian Herrien as a 7th round pick. Davidson and LeMay were Tier 1 UDFA's while Dorbeck was a Tier 2.

10. OT Jedrick Wills - 14
44. S Grant Delpit - 55
88. DL Jordan Elliott - 48
97. LB Jacob Phillips - 128
115. TE Harrison Bryant - 57
160. C Nick Harris - 222
187. WR Donovan Peoples-Jones - 210

UDFAs

CB AJ Green - 177
RB Brian Herrien - 252
QB Kevin Davidson - 302

Might have a soft spot in heart for him but I’m a big fan of BB Landers. Kid is a bowling ball at DT. On the short side, but gets great leverage and pressures up the middle well. Certainly not a 3-down DT, but I think he adds value wherever he lands and can definitely make a roster.

He’s always good for a sound bite too. Good luck wherever he lands.
