2021-2022 Buckeye Basketball

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well, after a nice win comes an awful loss today to 13-15 Maryland. Liddell and Branham combined for 7-23 overall and 1-11 from 3. Can't do that and win even against bad teams. Games like this just might have Branham thinking about sticking around for another year. Here's hoping!
Yeah, it was disappointing. But, not surprising given their inconsistency. They really are a two man show now.

So tonight they follow up a bad loss with the worst loss I can quickly remember - 72-78 vs Nebraska in Columbus. Nebraska was 8-21 on the season and 2-16 (dead last) in the Big whatever. The last time the Cornhuskers beat a ranked team was 2019. Forget March Madness, I think the Buckeyes will struggle to win a game in the Conference tournament.

I think if the Bucks get bounced in the 1st round again then it'll be interesting in the off-season. I'd bet he stays one more year, though.

If no improvement next year? Then he's probably gone.

I was thinking along those lines myself. It sure has been a rough couple of weeks though.

No excuses, they should be way better.

The reason why he can and should probably get another year is because he's finally bringing in a big time class.

You don't wanna fire him and then have those kids bounce on out.

Looks like OSU is seeded 6 in the BIG tournament. They will play either Penn State or Minnesota on Thursday around 9 PM.

This team is terrible. Absolutely no heart. Just sleep walking out there against another bad team.

Lost 4 of the last 5 heading into Madness.

3 of those losses were against trash teams, and the other was at Home against an extremely undermanned Michigan.

If/when this team loses in the 1st round, Holtmann's seat is going to heat up quickly.

It's gonna be a tough spot because the recruiting class is the best OSU has had in a long time.

But he's just been underwhelming.

Give him one more year to keep those recruits.

Nowhere else really to post this, but shout out to the Case Western Spartans Men’s basketball team for making their first ever D3 NCAA tournament and making it to the Sweet Sixteen, upsetting a #1 seed in the process. Case lost in OT last night for a chance to play in the Elite Eight. Still, an amazing season for them. Go Spartans!

Loyola Chicago....yea that's an easy upset to pick

Actually it wouldn't be an upset, Loyola is favored by 1.5.
And you have to give Holtmann another year. He's actually a good coach, but a terrible recruiter. He's had classes ranked about 50th the past two years and slightly outperformed that level. Next year with a top 5 class coming in will be the key.
