Wade's career average from range isn't much better than Love in a slump, Love is more versatile offensively, and Love won't stay in a slump forever.
In the long run, we're all dead...

I find it pretty unlikely that Love, in his current state, will improve considerably in the 2nd half of the season without a substantial decrease in his work load.

It's really surprising how many people seem to be in favor of keeping Wade in the doghouse. IMO he's played pretty well this season whenever he's got the opportunity.

Not sure it makes sense dying on Kevin Love Hill. I respect him and his career, but the man is almost done.

I just rate Wade as a good third-string player. Also, I'm far less concerned about a single loss here and there while we're without a backup PG. If Rondo comes back, and we lose a bunch of games in a row to teams we should be beating, then I'll be concerned. But it's an 82 games season, you're not going to win them all, and players are gong to have shooting slumps. I value continuity and quite frankly, keeping Love's trade value out of the toilet, more than I value any single regular season game.

Per 36, Love on the left, Wade on the right:

points: 23.6.......................9.0
rebounds: 12.0........................6.1
assists: 3.6........................2.2
TS% 61.3.......................54.7

Their play hasn't been close. And given Love's current role as our primary bench scorer, we absolutely cannot afford the massive dropoff a move to Wade pretty much guarantees. To put it differently, there's a reasonable shot that Love can have a second half of the season comparable to the first because he literally just had a half season like that. There is no reasonable shot that Wade can put together a half season comparable to the one Love just had.

It's not an either/or proposition. The goal should be something in between that utilizes Wade at times when he can be most effective while getting Love the rest he needs, and utilizing Love at a level of minutes where he can be at maximum effectiveness.

On the Hollinger & Duncan podcast, one of them mentioned that there are plenty of folks around the league that are not convinced that Levert, on his current contract, is even a positive asset.

I have no strong opinion as to how Hollinger did as a GM, but I'd imagine that he had done decently dialed-in contacts. I'd be very disappointed if we ended up giving up more than Rubio and a protected FRP for Levert.

I think if comes down to the deadline, the Pacers might just move LeVert for an expiring like Rubio's contract and whatever else they can get in terms of assets even if it's just a good future 2nd rounder or a couple not so good 2nd round picks. Get off his contract just opens up alot more flexibility to retool their team in the offseason.

When I look at their big salaries, LeVert is the one that I would question the most of who would take him easily if the Pacers wanted to make moves. All their other big salaries just seem much easier to move and they can have option to retool their team based on what kind of free agents or trades come their way in the summer.

I would rather sign Garland to 38 million dollar deal than trade for Lavert. I would rather blow up the outside world than trade for Lavert.
Someone you hate more than Garland?

Why is Love vs Wade even a debate? Wade is great for what he does, but he is at best your 10th man. Guy should not be seeing playing time in a playoff series and probably not much in the regular season barring injuries or an unfortunate suspension. Love is a 6MOTY candidate and could be a fill in starter for several NBA teams. Thats like saying we should bench Garland because Goodwin hit a few threes or Pagnos is being paid money to sit on the bench and watch the best basetkball there is.

The only problem with giving guys nights off is how tight the East is, a bad week and the Cavs could easily be down in 7th with 3 teams closing on them. I like the play in as a concept but not this year damm it.
The bulls just lost Caruso for a month or so. Their depth is getting seriously challenged at this point.

It’s not a debate. This site’s analog to Kevin Pangos brought it up as an issue. (Actually, that’s unfair to Kevin.) Nobody would seriously entertain the idea of Wade being in the same zip code as Love.
