It’s not a debate. This site’s analog to Kevin Pangos brought it up as an issue. (Actually, that’s unfair to Kevin.) Nobody would seriously entertain the idea of Wade being in the same zip code as Love.
Exactly, but I don't want to see JBB run Love into the ground.

Here's a few stats for you... 58% of the people (72 out of 124 votes) on this board thought KLove would play 30 games or less this season. 70% (87 of 124) didn't think he'd make it past 40 games. He's already played 38 games at around 21 minutes/game. I think the 21 minutes may be the high side of his capability without grinding him down. Since the last road trip he's shown signs of wearing down.

I was one of 3 people who said he'd play more than 72 games and I was just being optimistic. I don't take polls seriously.

But I am in favor of seeing Love make it through the whole season intact. So far, so good... but I really want to see the team closely monitoring and preserving KLove. And part of that would be strategic rest for him. Anytime our defense drops off and Love is part of the reason I wouldn't mind seeing Wade brought in to help defensively, and keep pushing Wade to shoot threes to see if he has a stroke on that particular night.

So while I can agree Love is hands-down a better contributor than Wade or Windler will ever be, wearing the guy down is not in the best interest of the team over the course of the season. I'm pretty sure there's a sweet spot for managing Love's minutes and when his performance drops off it's an indication to start cutting back and selectively resting him. Keep him as fresh as possible. And do everything possible make sure he's available when the playoffs start while at the same time keeping him sharp and engaged.

What?

I think I just wrote yesterday that we need Love for the playoffs. He needs to stay as healthy and fresh as possible. Seeing as his shooting has now fallen off a cliff and he has stopped even pretending to defend, it's very reasonable to think that Wade should get some of his minutes. I don't need Dean to play 20 minutes, but the fact that he's racking up DNP-CD's for a team with no depth makes no sense whatsoever.

I agree managing his minutes is important. Rather than replacing him with Wade every time, I'd like to see JBB maybe balance Lauri's minutes differently. Oftentimes this season he's played directly alongside Love, and that's often been a bad combo for defensive purposes. I think Love and Lauri should be played separately with either Mobley or JA playing alongside one of them at most times throughout the game. Wade can still play spot minutes, particularly in less meaningful games, or games where the Cavs have a big lead.

time to unsheathe our ginger Klay and give him an extended run until he inevitably breaks

Rick Mahorn, Bill Lambeer or Dennis Rodman would have taken his head off for his cheap tricks
Grayson just as likely would have learned a thing or two from the dirtiest of dirty players. Methinks him and Stockton would have gotten along famously. Only diff for Grayson is he never would have ventured away from picking on other guards.

Stockton is one of my favorite pg of all time but this made me laugh...

So much for your idea... :conf (11):

From now until the team-wide slump breaks, if I were JBB I'd have the entire team doing absolutely nothing other than shooting threes and shooting free throws. And JA can rebound threes instead of shooting them, but he has to shoot more free throws.

I'd be surprised if Grayson suits up against us on Wednesday. I'm gonna predict a 5 game suspension. It should be longer.

Grayson Allen is a throwback.

Nice 80’s like baller
He broke Caruso's wrist with that bullshit. He's very fortunate to be playing in an era where teams use their last two roster spots on two-way contracts for financial reasons, as opposed to holding one of those roster spots for 280lb enforcer who's primary function is to retaliate for that type of garbage.
