Nice… Will be interesting to see if that compromises Barrett’s gane at all….Thibs and Reddish should be fun…

I'm a little surprised that the immediate reaction to this deal seems to be "Atlanta got fleeced." That Charlotte pick should be in the 15-20 range. That's a very good pick that they could either use themselves, or more likely, package and flip in another move before the deadline.

Pretty good asset management IMO by the Hawks. Also, clears a path for Hunter to get his minutes when he comes back from injury. I've been in the "Reddish is overrated camp" since his Duke days, so I don't think we're missing out on much there.

That's a great deal for NY and reunites him with his Duke teammate, RJ Barrett. Reddish was a top 10 pick and many felt he should've gone higher in the 2019 draft. All the Knicks gave up for a potential core piece was a top 18 protected pick and Kevin Knox, who doesn't even play for them. I guess Atlanta felt that better offers weren't going to come.

Isn't this how all regular season LeBron teams looked like here?
Were you alive during Lebron's time here? Those Cavs teams were always winning (even if they underachieved) squads.

That's a terrible return for Reddish. This is the team that traded Doncic for Trae & the pick that became Reddish. How is that good asset management?

Haven't understood what New York is doing since the off-season, still don't.

Just wasted a great opportunity to finally build something sustainable by blowing everything on the likes of Evan Fournier and Cam Reddish.

As good as Trae is, the Doncic for Trae + pick deal was a mistake for the Hawks. But rather than doubling down on a mistake by overpaying Reddish, they moved him for a mid-first round pick, which is more than I would have given up for him.

It’s a close competition for sure. For our team, Mobley obviously. If I was starting a new team though, I might lean Ja just because come playoffs I lean towards perimeter stars who can create for themselves and others and carry an offense. Morant averaged 30 ppg, 8 apg, and 5 rpg in his first playoff series last year, which is just stupid.

The ability to play both ends of the floor at a plus level is particularly important in the playoffs, because most teams in the playoffs can score. Being able to stop the other guys from scoring is often the key.

Morant is a more impactful offensive player than Mobley at this point, although that might change. But Mobley's infinitely greater defensive contribution won't.

Morant has definitely improved on the defensive end of the floor too.

I'm gonna look at some advanced stats late but my eye tells me he's not a negative defender this season.

He's legit the best PG in the league at the moment and thats including Doncic and Harden as points. And if Memphis keeps winning he'll probably win MVP this year by default.

Morant has become the transcendent superstar that still flies under the radar.

Another perspective on trade.
