Jesus...

The player that comes to mind is Shaq, but I'm not sure you can get away with this as a forward that depends on atheleticism/explosion.
Uh... The players who come to mind more are John Williams, Dinner Bell Mel, Oliver Miller, Andrew Bynum... All had talent, and all never lived up to it because they took being A McDonalds All American too literally.

I had forgotten how athletic he was.

Speaking of players that don’t take their fitness seriously UNLIKE MY BOY TRAE YOUNG !!!!! :chuckle:

Never been a Luka guy….Probably never will be…

I had forgotten how athletic he was.
Zion is a big dude and he has the type of body that naturally wants to gravitate towards 300lbs+. It's exceedingly rare to see a man of Zion's size with that type of explosiveness. I can't help but think he's in the wrong sport, as he would've been an absolute beast on the football field, where he wouldn't have to worry as much about his weight. Unfortunately, as a basketball player, he's likely to always be struggling with his weight as well as injuries, given the 82 game schedule and stress the sport takes on one's joints

Zion picked the wrong sport. Probably could have been a nasty OL man.
Yeah, and then run a tackle-eligible play down on the goal line. Who would stop that?

At the time of the draft, I thought Morant was a better pick than Zion. The human body just isn't made to do the things Williams, at least not without getting hurt.

The block at 1:02 of the video just reminds me how glad I am that we ended up with Mobley. Zion needlessly crushed the ball out of bounds, rather than block it to his teammate (the only one who would have been close to the ball). So instead of Duke ball going the other way, it was still the opponents’ ball.

Zion would rather feed his ego and be on the highlight reel. Mobley would rather make the smart basketball play and win.

I'm calling BS, politely and respectfully, on his "body type gravitating toward 300lbs."

That much weight isn't meant to be moved around as violently as he does on human bones. Especially not ones with as valgus as his legs are. There's a reason he's had lower extremity injuries literally *every* year since his sophomore year in high school. Valgus legs and waddling as pronounced as he does make me think he needs to be closer to 260lbs...or *drastically* change how he plays the game.

Oh, and I'm starting to believe he has a thyroid issue.

Yep thought the same thing. Ripping out of shoe was something I think people should have considered more carefully.

Eddie Curry. We kept hearing how he was coming back but his conditioning never returned.

"During the 2009 off-season Curry began working with a trainer on a fitness and weight-loss regimen. As of mid-July he had lost 30 pounds, but according to the trainer it would be "delusional" for coaches to think he could get down to his listed weight of 285 pounds."

What a shame the Zion story has become. By far the best college basketball player I've ever seen.

This 2nd quarter between the Raptors and Thunder has been some of the most dreadful basketball I've seen.

Pokusevski is a useless player and needs to go.

Ok, latter part of the second quarter was much better.

SGA has really lost his 3-ball, though.

Back to the Cavs...

This is insane what's happening in Houston. I can't make sense of it other than KPJ and Green are THAT bad right now.

but even then, the rest of this roster is not 7 wins in a row good. Not even close.

And yet...they're gonna win 7 in a row.

Barnes giving OKC fits on both ends. While not Mobley, he's quite good. OKC's lead down to single digits.

Nonetheless, OKC can actually win some games when SGA, Dort, Giddey, Kenrich Williams, and reliable vet Derrick Favors all play. Only Dort played in the historic loss to the Grizz. Williams is really needed for a bench spark. Dude plays high energy with a good inside-out game. Without Williams and Favors, OKC has the worst bench in the league.
