2021 AFC North Happenings

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don't think the Steelers are dead yet. We have seen them get off to some rough starts in the past before turning it around and competing for a playoff spot. I don't think they are anywhere near a Super Bowl contender or even a playoff team, but that doesn't mean they are going to be a cakewalk the entire season.

Of course all of my thoughts above could just be my brain's defense mechanism because I am so used to hoping the Steelers will finally suck and it never happens.

They won’t be worse than 8-8.

They won’t be worse than 8-8.
Am I seriously the only one that expects them to only win 6 or 7 games? Take them out to the pasture and put them down. They won a ton of games last year with an absolutely dominate defense. That defense is gone, and their QB is absolute toast. I got it they are the "steelers", but ultimately the name of the team isnt worth anything if you dont have any one that can show up and play.

I mean, considering there's 17 games, the 8-8 mark is an interesting one for jigo to pick :chuckle:

I think the Steelers suck--one of the worst offenses in the entire NFL. They're better than the Jets and the Texans, but their offensive line isn't much better than the Bears at this point and their QB has a foot in the grave at this point. Their defense can still be good when healthy. So, I think 7-10 is about where I expect them to end up.

I think their experience winning games will get them there as the season goes on.

I wouldn’t be shocked if you’re right, but those games everyone has them losing I think they’ll pull out by 2–3 points instead with timely plays.

Culture and confidence are real things.

(Hope you’re right!)

I obviously didn’t watch the game.

But the fuck is wrong with whoever is calling plays? Ben can’t get the ball down the field, and the second there’s pressure, he can’t move. A total lame duck.

Our scheme against the Bears? The exact same application against Lamar and Ben, x2.

The Steelers are done and their October schedule (at GB, Denver, Seattle, at Cle) is brutal. Ben's body is broken and their O-line is a turnstile. I predict massive turmoil in the locker room and questions about Tomlin's job security.

5-12.

Book it.

I say 5-17. They will win 5 games, but the league will review the wins on tape and somehow the stealers will lose all 5 games they won after the fact.

Book it.

Nothin better than a good old cripple fight! :chuckle:

Ben is so obviously washed, but I'm also not sure what the Steelers can do about it. Can you really bench him after all these years? I think they just have to ride out the year and then take him out back with a twelve gauge when the season is over like the Giants did with Eli.
