Hello everyone and welcome to the 2021 Affiliate Record Tracker by Organization. Over the past few years I have started and updated a discussion thread with this info & will try again this year. Again, I will only report on FULL SEASON minor league teams (A thru AAA). That way there is a consistent measurement of 4 affiliates for each organization.

While winning is secondary to developing players in the minors, winning is important in its own right as it develops a culture of success, helps to focus players and hopefully produce post-season appearances in the minors (which results in more learning opportunities & development of the players).

For this report I will list all 30 teams. In the future I will narrow the reporting (top 10, bottom 5, noting teams in the division if not already listed).
Updates with be bi-weekly thru the end of May before switching to weekly sometime in June thru the end of the season.

Here is the 1st report (with games ending 5/9/21). Enjoy

Anyway to do team stats as well or would that be a bit too much? Lol

Anyway to do team stats as well or would that be a bit too much? Lol
I am not going to rank and sort the various team stats (at least for free)..
If you want to look at team stats, the team/ org names are links to the Baseball Reference page.

That said, putting this post together I now realize it calls up from my original tracker in 2018.
I will work on updating the links for future ease of reference.

Baseball America posted an article 5/18/21 (appears to be free content) regarding minor league organizations & individual teams
Linking it here so people can review it. It covered games thru Monday 5/17/21

https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories ... -the-rear/

As part of their table they included on the organization and team level a few other data points: runs scored/ runs against/ run differential.
CLE affiliates have the lowest runs allowed by a wide margin (nearly 30 runs fewer then next lowest).

After the games on Tuesday night 5/18, CLE is back in 1st for winning percentage and now 1st in run diff (+106)

Notes & Tidbits:
Team names are now linked directly to 2021 affiliate stat record (Baseball Reference)
Only 1 team with a .500 record: Toronto
13 teams with above .500 records
10 teams tied with most games played (72)
2 teams (Houston & San Diego) tied with the fewest games played (66)

Greatest Run Diff: NY Yankees at +140
Only 3 teams have a +100 or higher run diff: NY Yankees, Seattle (+119) & Cleveland (+100)

Worst Run Diff: Washington at -177
Only 2 teams have a -100 or worse run diff: Washington & St. Louis (-135)

EDIT: Moving forward I am also tracking the run differential & WHIP for each organization & will add that to the update tables..

In terms of WHIP, only 1 club (Tampa) has a team WHIP under 1.2 (at 1.139).
6 other have a team WHIP under 1.3: Texas 1.22, San Fran 1.228, CLE 1.241, Cinci 1.26, Miami 1.264 & Pitts 1.287

Seattle 1.304 & NY Yankees 1.305 are the next.

4 clubs have a team WHIP over 1.5: ChiSox 1.505, LA Angels 1.543, Colorado 1.561 & St. Louis 1.609

Washington with its horrible record & worst run diff has a WHIP of 1.488

Its interesting that Miami has the 6th best winning mark, 6th best WHIP and is 12 games over .500 but has a -5 run diff. I will need to watch that moving forward.
