Bump. Curious if others can comment on baserunning and fielding rankings.

At the bottom of the chart, they throw this line in, "Baserunning value includes avoiding double plays; defensive value includes a positional adjustment."

The thing to keep in mind is they included all positions... if we were talking about strictly CF, I'm sure Straw would make it.

Straw does hit into a surprising number of DPs.

Interesting ESPN observation about the Rays as we head into the final weeks of this season.

What makes the Rays so dominant? The Rays are the best-run organization in baseball from rookie ball through the major leagues. Their secret, among many, is that everyone plays, everyone contributes. Their 25th man is better than anyone else's 25th man. Their 20th through 25th men are better than any other team's 20th through 25th. The Yankees won 13 games in a row in August, and lost ground to the Rays, making the Yankees the fourth team in history to do that in any month, the first since the 1965 Giants. -- Tim Kurkjian

Why are the Yankees having a Scooby Doo bobblehead night on September 19th?

The AL Wild Card race is interesting now. I hope Toronto is able to pull it off. They've been on an incredible run and seeing either the Red Sox/Yankees miss would be nice.
