Since the Yankees can't be eliminated from the Wild Card, I'd love to see a 4 way tie
with NY, Boston, Seattle and Toronto.
MLB has been doing this on the final day of the season for the last 3 or so years...BTW- tomorrow all MLB games will start between 3:05 and 3:20 ET for
playoff ramifications. Very unusual coordination.
I think Houston and Chisox are opponents in first round.Hope Seattle can win tonight to make things really interesting. Boston has the easier matchup than the Yanks so potentially Tampa can beat them again to create a tie. It would be in Tampa's interest to create a tiebreaker scenario to cycle through the good pitchers that they hopefully won't have to face. Although maybe they'd play the White Sox anyway (I'm not sure how that works).
Okay yeah then the Rays have gotta be motivated to win and make these teams work extra for that last spot. Wasn't sure if it was done by record or if the wild card got the #4 seed no matter what. Seems like the latter is the case.I think Houston and Chisox are opponents in first round.
Division winners will always get a higher seed in baseball..Okay yeah then the Rays have gotta be motivated to win and make these teams work extra for that last spot. Wasn't sure if it was done by record or if the wild card got the #4 seed no matter what. Seems like the latter is the case.
I feel like you could make a good case that every team competing for the WC (except Seattle) is as good as Chicago.
Only saving grace is only one of Yankees-Red Sox will advance after wild card game.Disappointing to see the Yankees win, nothing crazy going to happen now.
