2021 Around MLB: Return of the Dead Ball Era

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The Royals just signed Michael Taylor to $9 mil contract for two years.

Zimmer and Mercado may have some trade value afterall.

Since the Yankees can't be eliminated from the Wild Card, I'd love to see a 4 way tie
with NY, Boston, Seattle and Toronto.

How do they decide who faces who? Tie breaker being the head to head numbers?

BTW- tomorrow all MLB games will start between 3:05 and 3:20 ET for
playoff ramifications. Very unusual coordination.

Hope Seattle can win tonight to make things really interesting. Boston has the easier matchup than the Yanks so potentially Tampa can beat them again to create a tie. It would be in Tampa's interest to create a tiebreaker scenario to cycle through the good pitchers that they hopefully won't have to face. Although maybe they'd play the White Sox anyway (I'm not sure how that works).

I think Houston and Chisox are opponents in first round.

Okay yeah then the Rays have gotta be motivated to win and make these teams work extra for that last spot. Wasn't sure if it was done by record or if the wild card got the #4 seed no matter what. Seems like the latter is the case.

I feel like you could make a good case that every team competing for the WC (except Seattle) is as good as Chicago.

Division winners will always get a higher seed in baseball..
Even last year, with 8 teams qualifying, the 3 division winners were the top 3 seeds in each league..

It'll be interesting seeing what they do if it's a 3 way tie for the WC. Boston losing, Toronto winning, Yankees tied (if scores were to hold up and they lost it'd be a 3 way tie). Seattle could theoretically make it a 4 way tie but they're getting beaten badly.

Disappointing to see the Yankees win, nothing crazy going to happen now.
