2021 Browns Training Camp

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I love this because it wasn't a TD/huge gain. Instead it shows a little bit of movement can turn a run that would be no gain(ish) to 5 yards. It's the little things to keep in the positive for yards to go and down

Now using movement is no secret, but there is an issue with using movement. Movement takes allot of pre-snap time and means you have to call a play very quickly, get the play to your players, have the qb call the play, and then have 10-12 seconds left on the play clock to use the movement to your advantages before a delay of game penalty.

Now it seems simple, but it requires a high level of origination and decisiveness that most coaches dont usually have, especially coaches named after certain rooms of the house. (no, not talking about Johnny Shithole)

I’d love to see more pre-snap play shifting, and especially motion. Browns were bottom five in the NFL at plays with pre-snap motion. Next evolution of this offense.

Not sure what 90 saw to jump inside, but if the Browns can create that last second confusion it’s obviously going to result in some decent advantages up front.

Quick thinking by the C to pick him up, 75 a touch slow recognizing the second level

This shit is awesome. For all the flash we wanna see, if our coaches can get the players to execute every little detail like that consistently, we will literally be unstoppable. If we can get the small things right consistently, is there any defense that can ever stop us from gaining ten yards in four tries?

Yup, it's my biggest criticism of Stefanski/AVP, and it hasn't appeared to have changed based on what we showed in the preseason. Pre-snap motion and, more specifically, motion at the snap, is a free advantage. I want more of it.

I have no stats to back it up, but I felt like prior to both the Natson and OBJ injuries, motion was increased.

Rewatch the DPJ TD against Tennessee. The pre-snap on that play was awesome

I look at it like this:

1.) Install completely new offense [slowly], which may include limited motion to avoid confusion (?)

2.) Over the course of 2020, we saw more trickery, pre-snap motion and an identity of a ‘Cleveland Browns’ offense.

3.) 2021 - adjust scheme to keep teams guessing, which includes more motion/complex concepts now that the team is [mentally] ready.

*Note* — i place no stock in preseason offense or defense. Majority of snaps were from back-ups/future waiver wire players. Pretty confident no coaches are showing their sexy lingerie, before the season starts.
