2021 Buckeyes Football

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
.....Even in the Meyer era, the non-CFP NY6 wins didn't feel like those games I just mentioned. Truthfully, I haven't thought one second about the 2016 Fiesta Bowl, 2017 Cotton Bowl, or 2019 Rose Bowl victories beyond the day those games were played. The CFP has just made all other bowl games seem obsolete.

And there will be quite a few people who normally watch college football who won't even bother watching the championship game. I know I won't.

Who cares.....it's not for anything. I guarantee they'd play if we were in the playoffs....the game means nothing.

There was actually a time when a game didn't have to be "for anything" for it to matter to both player and fans. I just fail to see how a system in which more and more games are meaningless is an improvement. The whole desire to have a college playoff to determine an undisputed national championship elevated the destination over the journey.

I'm not at all sure that is actually a good thing.

Yeah I won't be watching Alabama vs. Georgia part 27 unless the game is within a score with like five minutes left and is set to have a good finish.

Just not an interesting matchup at all to me.

Satisfying end to an unsatisfying season for the Buckeyes. It does give one hope for next season though! Also just a very entertaining college football game. Playoff or not that's what should entertain fans without a rooting interest in either team.

Not infrequently I will be watching a football game (college or pro) and my wife will ask (if Browns or Bucks aren't playing) "who are we rooting for?" and I answer "no one, just hoping to see a good game." The 2022 Rose Bowl was a good game. And, yes, I would say that even if OSU had lost by 3.

I'm 100% with you. I won't watch one second of it.

Marcus Williamson outspoken!

There are literally tens of thousands of college students playing football every year who know they have absolutely zero hope of ever playing in the NFL. They are putting their bodies on the line every week also.

Which begs the question of why they do it if it is such a one-sided, lousy deal.
