2021 Buckeyes Football

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah that’s the only thing... hopefully none of our WRs transfer out now. We’ll have Olave, Wilson, Jameson Williams, Fleming, Smith-Njigba, Scott Jr, Egbuka, Ballard, and Harrison Jr. Thats just an absurd amount of talent at WR.
Hell, Cooper already entered the portal. Even pre-portal days, we were gonna have some attrition. Now, it's even more likely.

Same thing will happen at QB too

Yeah, it’s really nothing to be upset about IMO. That amount of talent, the best guys will be playing and sticking around. At both positions.

Awesome news on Olave, wow. We're gonna have two 1st round WRs next season. Whew

Any word on TT and Tyreke? Would be a massive boost to the D to have them back.

Saw the Ruckert news and thought it was very fortunate. But Olave? DAMN! I thought he was gone for sure. He's been my favorite Buckeye for a couple years now, and that 2nd TD against Clemson was one of the most beautiful moments ever. Our receiving corps is absolutely loaded and this brings great confidence for the offense, no matter who wins the QB race.

I'm always conflicted on these things because frankly this guy should get paid, but delighted as an Ohio State alum.

Is anybody wishing Meyer fails?

Now that it looks like he's basically leaving OSU alone, I hope he does well. Or least I certainly don't hope he fails. Not that I'd root for him to beat the Browns, but I definitely don't hold any ill will towards him.

Some Florida fans HATED him after he took the OSU job. Now, very different circumstances in some regards. This time he stayed retired an extra year and OSU is way better off with Day and any post Meyer Florida coach so far. Plus, we're not shocked he got back in.

I'll be rooting for him every game as long as he's not playing Cleveland (or playing in some weird game with playoff implications that could hurt our standing).

One of my all-time favorite sports figures. Now if he would've went back to college (Texas, USC, Notre Dame, etc.) and would be recruiting against us hardcore, then yeah, feeling would be different.

I'm really surprised by Olave.

If he tests reasonably well he'd be a late 1st rounder most likely.

And it's hard to see him getting much higher above that, though I guess possible with some type of monster season stats wise. But that's just not normally what happens for wide outs here. We never really have QBs and a system that throws for 350 yard a game.

Well, we had Tressel, who was just uber conservative offensively, and Urban, who was more aggressive, but was run heavy.

We've passed the ball WAY more since 2018, which coincides with Day being fulltime OC/playcaller.

I think Olave is confident that the offense will more resemble 2018-2020 than 2001-2017.

One one hand, I should be more shocked by Munford, because the dude did his 4 years. Olave is playing his 4th season, pandemic or not.

But Olave probably would've gone higher, so I guess I am more surprised by him.

But I'm shocked by both. Pleasantly, though.

Olave makes little sense to me either. He's ready to play on Sundays and I would've been surprised if he didn't go in the first two rounds.

Maybe he thinks he can play himself into a bonafide first rounder but with a new QB and the weapons we have in the WR room, I don't think he is going to see a huge statical jump in his play next year, aside from playing a whole season vs. an abbreviated one.

Maybe he just loves college and there's nothing wrong with that. I just hope he doesn't get some flukey injury that could cost him.

This is my worry. While you love to have Olave back for the team, you wonder how it effects the rest of the locker-room and recruiting. I guess the one positive is that if we are coaching up and getting these guys ready for the NFL, they would have their JR year to have that breakout year and go into the draft early. I am hoping the coaches are able to help the players see the big picture.
