2021 Buckeyes Football

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Ohio State 2021 football schedule

Sept. 2 – at Minnesota

Sept. 11 – Oregon

Sept. 18 – Tulsa

Sept. 25 – Akron

Oct. 2 – at Rutgers

Oct. 9 – Maryland

Oct. 16 – Off

Oct. 23 – at Indiana

Oct. 30 – Penn State

Nov. 6 – at Nebraska

Nov. 13 – Purdue

Nov. 20 – Michigan State

Nov. 27 – at Michigan

Dec. 4 – Big Ten Championship Game

My notes:
-How often do we open against a B1G opponent? It feels wrong to me but I know we've done it before 2020.
-The early test against Oregon should tell us a lot about the kind of expectations we should have from Stroud (or Miller) come postseason, though we can expect a brand new QB to evolve over the course of the season.
-Indiana has some residual hype from last season, I wonder if they can keep improving or if they'll dip at all this year.
-Love getting Penn State for the Halloween game, wouldn't mind making that a regular scheduling.
-They better circle Nov. 13th for obvious reasons.
-Can't wait to finally play Michigan again.
-If we manage to win the conference again, it'd be 5 in a row, which would be the best run since OSU's 6 straight titles from 1972-1977. We're not far behind UM (42) in total titles (39*) and already way ahead in outright titles (24 to 16).

2017 we opened at Indiana on a Thursday

Can someone explain why tOSU goes to Ann Arbor in 2021 when ttun did not visit CBus in 2020??
Seems wrong for the game not to be played but still considered as having happened so home/ away flips (like did after previous games)..

Because the Buckeyes are nothing like the scared little pussies at TSUN.

B1G did this for for all the games that got cancelled last year. Id you start flipping game locations, then the whole schedule gets thrown out of whack.

The reason the B1G adjusted the schedule was for rivalries that would've been in the same location 3 years this year.

It sucks, but also I get why the did it. On the plus side, we also don't have PSU/UM back to back anymore.

Not the easiest schedule for a team breaking in a new QB. I’d be somewhat worried about those first two, unless the defense is drastically improved.

Also saw they added Todd Fitch (former Vandy-OC and interim HC) for offensive analyst and CJ Barnett to replace Ryan Stamper as director of player development. Thoughts on all 3 hires? On one hand, it's awesome to see Day and the program utilizing the analyst role we see with other programs, and these are both guys with a lot of experience. Taking the scarlet colored glasses off though it seems like lower quality hires than the guys Saban brings in to those roles. And at this point that's what we're competing against.

Ive always liked Paul Rhodes.

I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt, but I’m certainly a bit skeptical of the defensive staff and the lack of Coordinator experience there.

Washington having a larger role on defense is something I’d like to see, given the staff as currently constructed. Definitely deserves more opportunity.

Completely forgot the spring game was even on this weekend. While I try to never take anything away from these, curious as to someone's thoughts who watched it?

The WR room is insane (not exactly breaking news there).

Will be stunned if Stroud doesn't end up the starter at QB.

Jack Sawyer looks like a guy that could be in the Bosa's/Chase Young tier.

Those were my main takeaways.

Did not watch but looking at some recaps, this seems to be the main takeaways. Stroud is the frontrunner and Sawyer looks legit. Defense is still a question mark, though.

Worth noting that Wilson is now the X, rather than the slot, with Smith-Njigba being the clear #3 receiver right now. Crowded room of course, so I'm excited to see the production we get. We're loaded at WR, have veteran presence at TE, and during the spring game they utilized some RB throws as well. Needless to say, whoever wins the QB competition will have the tools necessary to make another playoff run.

I hope an expect that Day will find ways to occasionally move Wilson into the slot from time to time. I think his NFL future will feature a lot of slot work, and he was devastating there.
